To be fair Goncalves did beat Cepede Royg who, I think everyone expected to win Santiago. So Cohen getting the bagel is still quite impressive. As is her terrible choke.

I respect Julia for what she has done this year. I think she tries harder than spoilt eastern brats. People seem to hate on her because she's rich.

I give credit to Cohen for getting out there and busting her ass all year...With as many tournaments as she plays, at least she is trying to make her own money and not sitting on her ass because her parents are rich

39, 5 more than the next closest in the top 300 (Daniilidou and Kostova)
I guess that shows incredible fitness.
She has played 62 singles and 34 doubles matches.

She lost in the first round of 22 of out of her 39 events though. The way that she plays takes an incredible amount of fitness, I'll give her that much. But her body would simply break down if she played that many events and went deep in most of them. She's doing it because it's the only way she can produce 16 good results in a year.

That said, I think she's capable of floating around between 80-110 in the rankings with the right schedule. Even her biggest haters can't deny that she's improved leaps and bounds. Making any kind of WTA final and entering the top 100 was absolutely inconceivable 12 months ago.

I totally agree. However she did step up to more wta events so losing early more was a byproduct of that. I think she's quite a grounded girl she knows the limits of her talent, but she is doing what she enjoys. When she stops enjoying it she will stop.
Would you say a good schedule would be to whore North American hard courts and only come to Europe for RG and grass season?

Good for Paula Cristina. She has a nice little game and it seems to have improved a lot.
