Brisbane >> Sydney, not the week before a slam and the same amount of points. Genius.

All the ladies want preparation for OZ. Can't wait. It is like 2002 where all the girls know they have a shot and are putting their paws up. Ajde!

Well done to the WTA for killing another tournament, Sydney.

Alongside current tournaments of Paris, Charleston, Moscow, Linz, San Diego, New Haven...

Which tournament will be next on the WTA hitlist?

It was inevitable. I'm actually surprised Sydney got as strong a field as it did in 2012...

Still, the pessimist in me can't help but fear we'll be returning to the WTA of 2009-11, and this amaze Brisbane field will produce a final between Lepchenko and Vinci.

 Sad but true. When Brisbane was still a MM, it produced Azarenka-Bartoli, Clijsters-Henin and Kvitova-Petkovic finals. Once it was bumped to Premier status, we had Kanepi-Hantuchova.

But it will take a disaster of epic proportions for the draw to fall apart with 8 of the top 10 playing.

bitch please.

Sydney had an awesome field in past years for almost FREE because they knew most of the players will sign up anyway whatever is the prize money or no appearance fee.

Brisbane invested into the tournament, raised the prize money, paying appearance fee to stars, like Clijsters & Henin in past years or Maria & Serena this season.

if WTA is killing anything, those are pointless exos like Hopman Cup and HongKong.

 Sad but true. When Brisbane was still a MM, it produced Azarenka-Bartoli, Clijsters-Henin and Kvitova-Petkovic finals. Once it was bumped to Premier status, we had Kanepi-Hantuchova.

How was noname Azarenka-Bartoli and Kvitova-Petkovic years ago better than Kanepi-Petkovic? Revisionist bs...

for sure Azarenka won't play Sydney ... either that or she will show up, play one match and withdraw ... we know she can't play multiple weeks in a row :rolls:

but I expect Kerber, Errani to play Sydney :tape:

and as the top 2 SEEDS they will receive a BYE 1R so they will probably vulture 120 points beating BYE and Pironkova :tape:
