Took some time to compile them, let me know if there are errors. We don't know which tournament each player is formally committing to yet so there will be some major changes when we know.

Then let's hope her opponent in 4th round will be Aga Radwanska. But who knows, maybe Ana will surprise and defeat Sharapova or Azarenka or... who knows. :)

So, based on these predictions, who would Venus be facing in R1,R2,R3,R4 if she decided to compete in the AO?

So, based on these predictions, who would Venus be facing in R1,R2,R3,R4 if she decided to compete in the AO?
It depends if she stays ranked at 17-24 or gets bumped to 25-32 bracket
if 17-24:
R1 and R2 she can play any unseeded player
R3 she can play any seed 9-16
R4 she can play any seed 1-8

if 25-32:
R1 and R2 she can play any unseeded player
R3 she can play any seed 1-8

Big difference

Yikes... I can't imagine her struggling (if she's in 'full form') with Errani and Kerber. Li Na struggled to beat her when she was injured earlier this year. The rest... I'm not sure. I LOVED the match against Radwanska because they both have such great net play, and they were both using the court so well, despite the results.

Ugh. I just want Venus to do well.

By participating in Auckland, Watson loses the chance to be seeded in AO because MAX 260 points can be earned.

Kaia had a surgery at the end of October, she needs about 3 months to recover. She can probably start playing tennis with full power in the end of January. So she can't defend her Brisbane title and misses AO.

:spit: Where have you been all year? Kerber beat her 3 times. And Li is if anything an even worse match-up for Venus.

Errani is the only top 8 seed who Venus would be the favourite against.

Li Na was pushed to the brink against an injured Venus who was serving in 80MPH 1st serves. Enough said. Kerber only beat her twice by the way and was up 4-2 in the 3rd at the US Open. Don't act like its impossible. But, still, in the Australian heat, with the Sjodren's, who knows what her condition will be. Even if she meets those players it means she's won a few rounds and fatigue might be settling in anyway. I think a 4th round would be a huge accomplishment. Na Li, Errani, and Kerber though are definitely the easiest of the Top 8.

Err...Madrid, Olympics, US Open. That comes to three by my calculations.

And for the record, I think what Venus did last year was amazing. Hopefully she can impress again next year. But I don't think it is fair to her to raise expectations of her to a level where she is regularly beating top 10 players. She does look like she is playing to a top 20 standard and I expect that will soon be reflected in the rankings next year, but given her age and the Sjogren's I think that is probably as far as it is realistic for expections to go. If it turns out that she exceeds expectations and does crack the top 10 well that would be something extraordinary. But let's not make the extraordinary something we expect. Give her the opportunity to surprise at least.

She might reach career high again with Kanepi out till end of Jan.

Too many players injured and she still has some SF and F runs.

She will be out of Top 30 if she can't defend her AO points.

Best possible seed attainable is #25 (if noone injured), meaning she will have to face a Top 8 player in R32.
