Elina :bounce: Some really tough games in that second set. I thought Petkovic was gonna come back, but Elina fought well :hearts:

Pretty bad from Petko tbh  But great to have her back ;)

It was so so so bad match, Andrea :o

I may be wrong, but Elina was shrieking only at setpoints/matchpoints...

Andrea didn't play well, but Elina is a very impressive young player. :hearts: She has a great serve, unlike so many young players, and she served the match out with an ace! :cheer: Well done to her, I hope she takes the title now! :D

Andrea  Just happy to have her back!

I only watched the second set and I thought it was quite good. Svitolina impressed me.

Kimiko is probably older than her mother :D

What a horrible, horrible match by Petko. This was worse than her performances before Linz. She made Svitolina's serve look like John Isner's. I really thought she had found her old self back in Luxembourg, but this today...:help:

I worry about the AO qualies.

Can you blame her? When you see the world No.1 screaming like a slaughtered pig you can't expect an 18-year old to not do it.

You don't think she'll get a WC?

Well deserved win for Elina. :yeah: :hearts:

I like the way she stayed tough in that second set in close games. I can't wait to see her in top 100 soon. :)

Petkovic is still miles away from her top form though.

they dont give out WC for anyone at slams
especially when they use them to give home players one

already 3 go to Asian/FRA/US so only 5 left for Aus players

She's not Australian, so I doubt that she has a chance. If it were Wimbledon, then she would have a good chance, but the other slams pretty much only care about their own 22 year old No. 700 "talents".

Petko really did look a bit rusty. But Svitolina was quite impressive tbh. Really did play well. Serving was so clutch towards the end there. She said it was the biggest win of her career so far after.

Like Petkovic is quiet. Ah-huff.

Bad bad bad from Petkovic. Still lacks the necessary speed on either the serve or the groundstrokes. She just isn´t comfortable going for shots and when she did, she missed badly due to the bad positioning and footwork. Still a long way to go.

Nevertheless Svitolina was pretty good for an 18 year old.

Shrieking AND bangs - is there some shadowy mastermind behind this development?

Petkovic still has issues moving to her right i think and also putting weight on it.

so...2 good matches and 2 bad ones from Petko
at least some wins ... but I expected her to win the whole thing..
hopefully more wins and rhythm to come start 2013 .. :)
