She was up 5-1 and had some at 5-3, and then missed one at 4-5 before finally taking it.

Tammy fought very hard till the very end and came back from 1-5 down in the final set to get get it back on serve at 4-5. Credit to her and good to see she still has some good tennis left in her.

But thank goodness Kimiko closed the match out finally. :bounce:

Definately Kimiko's best tournament this year, well in truth there isn't much contest, but this really does show that Kimiko can still play some good tennis, she just needs matches to get her into form, not unlike a lot of the younger players on the tour, actually. Hopefully Kimiko can follow this event up with good performances in the upcoming ITFs in Dubai and Tokyo. If she can, who know? We might actually see her back in the top 100 next year.

Doesn't matter. She got the last one. That's all you need. :worship:

(Okay Tammy DFed but if you give yourself enough chances eventually one will go your way. :) )

She didn't really get it, Tammy choked it to her :o

Just got angry when she misses some of easy ones + wrestling interceptions :o

Kimiko's form is back. This is her best tournament of 2012. :bounce:

She should have closed it out earlier though, almost let Tamarine back in the match at the end. Good luck in the final now!

Nice match to follow between two veterans whose fitness is impressive, even more at the end of the season.

I understand, fair enough. But as long as Kimiko won I'm happy to forgive her for all the chokes. Had she lost...I might not be feeling as generous though.

She was leading 5-1 but tamarine's service game at 4-1 was so long and even though Kimiko took it,
she looked really tired so I kinda knew if she couldn't finish with 6-1,
could be a long one and it really did....

Kimiko not only playing singles and doubles this tournament but
she is travelling around after Soul Open which was mid-september.
She's playing 7 weeks in a row, includeing tournaments at Europe and Asia...
that's quite something...

So Give Her a Break, she's not only old but has fair reason to be tired.

She would be up to #110, but she has Toyota final to defend, later in the month.

Kimiko entered 75k Toyota and Dubai only to get into the AO cut line,
and also she recently mentioned even if trying from Grand Slam's Q, she doesn't really matter
so I guess she's playing some more. :worship:

If she's thinking about retiring this year,
she really doesn't need to play ITF for staying Top100.

And actually she was joking she may play until 50.
