This is great stuff. Loving the 80's feel to it:D

I like how Solange doesn't follow trends and does her own little thing.
I also highly recommend people to check out her last album "Sol-Angel and the Hadley Street Dreams" if not already familiar with it. It is a proper gem of an album:)

Love it. The styling especially, except for those tiny shorts. She's good. Being Beyonce's sister is a double-edged sword. I wish she would get more attention.

She sounds like Madonna.

The dancing :tape: :haha: And why us her voice so heavily processed ? I thought she was a "vocalist"

They did overprocess her voice, but the dancing is great for what they were going for.

I think it is a pretty good video.

Beyonce can only dream of making an album as complete as "Sol-Angel...":oh:

What makes this even better is that she shot the video in South Africa

Nice song :-) It's a shame she never made it big on the pop charts. Loved her club hit 'TONY' back in the day

Sucks enough to be Kelly and Michelle - must suck even worse to be Solange :awww:.

I think Solange has long accepted that she isn't ever going to achieve big commercial success and is quite happy instead to bask in her status as a critic darling and the "edgier" sister:D

I remember this kind of thing when Jody Watley was originally doing it ;) , but I do like the track.

Oh shut the fuck up your dumb bitter bints.

Big Solange fan here, as usual this is a SUPERB effort. Literally obsessed with this song, Sleep in the Park is very strong too, listen to that. I'm really looking forward to the album, Sol-Angel at one point had half of my top 25 most played!

Don't belittle Solange by bringing her sister into this, it's self-defeating.

I'd love it if it wasn't for the sqwarking bird or whatever it's meant to be in the background, it bugs me. Shame really because the rest is great.

As is her fashion sense.

A Solange thread making two pages!:sobbing:
It is a really great song though so glad it is getting some recognition here:)
Also, Dev Hynes (who is the song's producer) is amazing too.

I'm loving this right now :hearts:

It's even better when you hear it when you're in a club.

It's like all the best from that late 80's R'n'B era

This is another 80's inspired song by the same producer behind Solange's song.
It is more of a direct throwback but really fab too:)

IKR those squawking bird noises are so distracting

Solange's "True" EP is available to download now on iTunes.
It is a truly gorgeous set of songs:hearts:
"Some Things Never Seem To F**king Work", "Lovers In The Parking Lot" and "Locked In Closets" are pure lushness.

I loved Hadley Street Dreams and now with this EP, Solange is becoming a big favourite of mine:worship:

The two songs I have heard sound good :). I like the late-90s early 2000s feel of "Lover's in the Parking Lot" and the fact that she (apparently) does not feel the need to realize club-banging Europop music about dancing and getting drunk . Plus, Hadley Street Dreams is a really good album.

Some songs give me Aaliyah-esque vibes

This is amazing...one of my songs of the year
9bRkrp0CjFY

"Remember when you kissed me, at Jimmie John's when I was 17"
(Think we all know Solange was doing more than just "kissing" at that age:p )

I've been getting the same vibe. I first noticed she was inspired by Aaliyah on the "turn my music up" intro for "I Decided." :yeah:

I just ADORE this performance:hearts:

Looks like a Donna Summer performance from 1976. The dance breakdown at the end with Dev is too cute:lol:
Just criminal how Solange continues to fly under the radar when she is so good.

:haha::haha: Solo tries to hard to be different. It must be nice to ride the coattails of your famous sister.

I really love the new EP...heavily influenced by New Wave music but also combines indie pop and r&b. The lyrics are great as well.

It's encouraging to see someone with as many opportunities/options as Solange doing her own thing and going the indie route. :yeah:

I don't think it is processed...it sounds the same as her performance on JF. She's just singing in a different tone.
