If Serena Williams tomorrow wins hers next match (USO/2012 final vs Azarenka) she will be equal with Roger Federer and Steffi Graf with 9 HC GS Titles!

You must to know that USO is playing on hardcourts not from the beginning but since middle of 70', and in Melbourne since end of 80', so for example Margaret Court which have 16 USO+AO titles actually never won any slam at hardcourts!

And of course, if Serena wins final tomorrow, she also has great shot (if stays healthy and in this shape) already in Melbourne early next year to become first and only tennis player in history with 10+ HC Grand Slam titles!

BTW here is current all-time list of HC GS Champions:

9 - (USOx5 + AOx4) Roger Federeractive
9 - (USOx5 + AOx4) Steffi Graf
8 - (USOx4 + AOx5) Serena Williamsactive
7 - (USOx5 + AOx2) Pete Sampras
6 - (USOx2 + AOx4) Monica Seles
6 - (USOx2 + AOx4) Andre Agassi
etc...

EDIT: Yes, Serena do it (harder than expected) and in Melbourne next season she will try to become first and only tennis player in history with 10+ GS HC Titles!

Serena's game is nice...hands down. Errani has no weapons and we know how some of those weaponless former #1's ended up. Azarenka better bring some body armour tomorrow b/c it's on.

Except Serena and Roger, Novak Djokovic is also active player to watch at HC slams, especially if he wins USO this week (which means to reach 5th HC GS title already at 25).

Considering her struggle from 2004 to 2008, I never really notice she's that close now to equal the record and then immediately break it next year.

Like I predicted a year ago Serena is cementing herself as the hard court GOAT, displacing Graf who previously had been. By careers end she could be the overall GOAT, but by next years Australian Open I predict her to be the undisputed hard court GOAT for women.

I forget yesterday to mention another Serena big achievement on hardcourts. She won 5 Miami titles!

That tournament with reason is counted like 5th slam, because it is two-weeker and till 2009 is arguably biggest non-slam event during season and only mandatory.

I am optimistic about her winning the final. Serena has put it all together and just needs that cherry topper. She can do it.

Now that Henin and Clijsters have retired, there really isn't anyone who could stop Serena from winning AO 2013 for 10th hardcourt slam :bounce:

Well there is always Serena herself. Really the person (with all due respect to Razanno and Makarova) who stopped her from winning the Australian and French this year.

Clijsters wasn't retired during AO 2012. Serena was nervous because of it

I think Azarenka could stop her. Doesn't mean she will, but she definitely could.
