US Open is traditionally slam where organizers only care about unofficial star-power ranking (or USA market value) of tennis player before create daily courts schedule. For example, on this season's Wimbledon even GOAT Federer or favorite home player Murray not played all opening 4 rounds on Centre Court, WTA superstar Sharapova played only once at Centre Court till R16 and Serena played twice on 3rd Wimby Court at opening 4 rounds... etc... Such things are simple impossible in New York, so we have 5 players which reach R16 this season which all 4 matches played on Arthur Ash Stadium (Serena, Sharapova, Federer, Djokovic and favorite home ATP player Roddick) and two players played already 3 matches on Ash (Ivanovic and Murray). Two currently low ranked WTA legends Clijsters and Venus unfortunately is out early, but of course that they played all theirs 2+2 matches on Ash, unlike for example currently ATP#4 Ferrer or WTA#5 Kvitova which both reach R16 but not played any match on USO biggest stadium!

Thats how things always works in New York, but that means that USO schedule is always good indicator of players "star-power".
Here is USO/2012 schedule of all 16 WTA players involved into this season R16 where A-is Arthur Ash, L-is Louis Armstrong, G-is Grandstand, and P-is Parking courts (all others).
For more clear view WHO IS WHO there, i create some kind of "rating" where for every player with 1pt is counted when she is scheduled on Grandstad, with 2 when she is scheduled on L.A., and 4pt when she is scheduled on Ash (and no points for little parking courts).

US Open 2012 schedule

A - Arthur Ash stadium
L - Louis Armstrong stadium
G - Grandstand
P - other courts

IMPORTANT NOTE: This method is good and relevant, but not perfect of course. For example young Laura Robson has big benefits for drawing in opening 4 rounds 3 big WTA names (Kim, Li Na and Stosur), Ana Ivanovic which is 3 times scheduled on Ash last 3 rounds playing against around #50 unseeded players in 1st round draws out of TOP150 ranked qualifier which is simple too much (so she draws Grandstand in that case), and for example Hlavackova, Petrova and Pironkova is "lucky" to draw in 4th round Serena, Maria and Ana, and of course that is only reason why they scheduled once Ash. But overall speaking this USO/2012 star-power "standings" are pretty much relevant and representative.

...had a feeling you'd make a thread like this. :lol:Thread like this arguable have only sense in New York, and also R16 is most representative round, because since QF probably all matches will be on Ash.

So if I not open this thread yesterday or today, first next opportunity for such thread will be first week of the September of 2013!

Are you counting the 5 or 6 Tsveti fans and the hobos who sleep under the stands?

The USTA clearly wanted to hide Bartoli from the US public - good for her she was determined to show up at Arthur Ash anyway - bitchez be damned, no one was gonna stop Marion from being on the exact spot of her fave on the 10th anniversary of him making his last stand and going out with a bang

I mean that's an interesting stats I guess. BUT during the first week playing 1st match on Ash is less good than playing 2nd and later matches on Armstrong or even Grandstand. Night matches should also be worth more points. As you pointed out as well it sometimes depends of the opponents. Robson got on a big courts 3 times cuz she played Kim, Li and Stosur. Ivanovic got a night match on Ashe cuz she was playing Stephens. Your stats would need some adjustments if you wanna make them a tad more relevant lol
