Hey Folks,
“ Petra Kvitova’s Trophy Case”
This thread was created just after Petra’s Subforum was created & she won the Wimbledon Title.
The OP has now changed his mind that he does not like Petra any longer and has deleted the thread he created

^ it was me.
Oh.
It doesn't matter anyway, cause once deleted, it's gone, right?
Just out of curiosity; if I can ask. What prompted you to delete it (instead of just leaving it there)?
Did Petra not meet your expectations this year, or some other reason?
Thanks
And boy, that was a quick response. Lol

No. As I am not a huge fan Petra anymore, it was fair to let one of her fans run the thread. I wasn't going to update it anymore and I would rather have a new one and have it updated, then leave it stranded. :p
I always liked Petra (since I saw her in Portoroz '09), she even became one of my biggest faves after seeing her Brisbane '12 ;) But after YEC, just I don't know what happened. I just didn't like her that much
Great job. Maybe I would give more space to the Wimbly title (the biggest achievement in tennis) at the expense of the Linz mickey-mouse tourney and throw in the Fed Cup title.
But it looks great as it is anyway.

No, HOBART was MICKEY MOUSE
Linz (though a MM), is a very well respected tournament.
Hobart, is like a third level tournament, when there are 3-4 legit ones taking place down under and New Zealand.
Now of course Petra was young, so I don't hold that against, or make fun of her in any way.
Hey Paul, we should also include her 2012 Hopman cup trophy and 2012 USO Series trophy in the cabinet may be in a shelf below the fed cups? - she did earn those trophies legitimately!:)
:angel:Also on the awards front there is one missing from the list – she won the “2011 Fed Cup Heart Award”
:angel:Also could you please use your brilliant graphics capability to show case her awards and ITF circuit titles in some imaginative way if it means we have three different cabinets for the different type of awards/ titles she has won:hearts: then so be it – it is going to be a very long time before we see trophies in the cabinet or awards coming her way so lets make the most of what she has got so far … she may be in a slump but lets make sure her sub-forum rocks:aparty: on all fronts…just like the titanic ..while the ship sank the band still played…:cheer:

Hey Paul, we should also include her 2012 Hopman cup trophy
After she will win something else
and 2012 USO Series trophy
I don´t think so

:worship: Greatwork Paul - also nice to see the Hopman cup trophy making its way to the Kvitty trophy cabinet - I still think the USO series trophy should be in the cabinet coz one cannot win it unless one makes a good showing / effort during the entire series .....i.e. it is a trophy for 'over all performance' which is driven by a significant bonus element that encourages player performance......

Paul is such an Ace with graphic display:cool: that,if you compared visual artistry to tennis ability,he could make even Federer look like some chump who had to play through ITF Qualies
Petra won Hobart in 2009 and Brisbane back in 2011 before it was a Premier but, since she began winning the bigger events in early 2011,all except one of her titles has been Premier or Slam-level...a 70% overall mark!

but one trophy is still missing :bigwave:
My benchmark is Venus Williams and Serena Williams. I think the USO series trophy duplicates titles from Montreal and New Haven.

I don't understand your benchmark of Venus Williams & Serena Williams - what do you mean?
IMO the 'USO series trophy' is not a duplication of titles from Montreal and New Haven as you can have various winners for the individual titles from Montreal to New Haven but not all those winners can win the 'USO series trophy' as it is awared to only the best performer across the entire series.....
Kvitova clinches Emirates Airline US Open Series women's title
NEW HAVEN - Petra Kvitova of the Czech Republic clinched the Emirates Airline US Open Series women’s title with a 6-3, 6-3, quarterfinal win over Lucie Safarova (also of the Czech Republic) at the New Haven Open at Yale today. This is the first Emirates Airline US Open Series title for Kvitova. She will now compete for the largest payout in tennis history at the 2012 US Open -- $2.9 million ($1.9 million for winning the US Open and a $1 million bonus for winning the US Open as Emirates Airline US Open Series champion).
The 2011 Wimbledon champion is currently tied with Li Na of China atop the Emirates Airline US Open Series Bonus Challenge standings with 170 points, but holds the head-to-head Series tiebreaker over Li Na with her victory in the final at Montreal. The women’s third place finisher in this year’s bonus challenge has yet to be determined.
The men’s winner of the Emirates Airline US Open Series will also compete for $1 million in bonus prize money at the 2012 US Open. Sam Querrey is currently competing at the Winston-Salem Open and is the only player that can overtake standings leader Novak Djokovic. The second and third place finishers on the men’s and women’s sides will compete for $500,000 and $250,000, respectively.
In 2011, Serena Williams took the 2011 women’s title, earning a total $1.4 million by advancing to the US Open final, while Mardy Fish won the 2011 men’s title. In 2007, Roger Federer collected the biggest paycheck in tennis history – $2.4 million – for winning the US Open and the Emirates Airline US Open Series. In 2005, Kim Clijsters also captured both the US Open and the Emirates Airline US Open Series, winning $2.2 million – the largest purse in women’s sports history – and again equaled that amount in 2010, winning the US Open and finishing second in the Emirates Airline US Open Series.
Now in its ninth season, the Emirates Airline US Open Series continues to serve as a true regular season of hard court tennis, linking 10 summer tournaments to the US Open. Fans follow the action throughout the summer during national broadcast coverage while players battle for $40 million, including a chance for bonus prize money at the US Open. The Series collectively reached a U.S. television audience of 39 million and drew more than 800,000 on-site fans in 2011. In 2012, Emirates Airline became the title sponsor of the Series, as well as the official airline of the US Open. The Emirates Airline US Open Series is also supported by sponsors American Express, Chase, Citizen Watch Company, Esurance, evian and Gatorade.

I think our friend Paul is afraid that the trophy cabinet he made is too small so he is now forced to save space whenever he can.
Don't want to jinx Petra, but the trophy case should be enlarged IMO.
But no doubt Paul's work is much appreciated. :yeah:

So I have checked out the venus thread you speak about : http://www.tennisforum.com/showthread.php?t=356774 - but using Uranium's thread as a model is not ideal coz there are few anomalies and differences : Uranium's thread is about titles & statistics where as you are constructing a player's trophy case. Also interms of accuracy of Uranium's thread - it is horses for causes. Venus for example won Fed Cup in 1999 helping USA defeat Russia 4-1 but Venus's Fed cup victory does not show up in Uranium's grand titles compilation! Where as you include Petra's Fedcup titles in your trophy case. So once again the interpretation of what is in or not in Petra's trophy case is very subjective just as Uranium has taken a subjective view of what should be in Venus's Titles thread.
The USO Series Title is for performance - with the 'reward' being the 'bonus element' rather than it being for 'bonus' and the reward 'being performance'!!
