Is this the contest controlled by Mr. Trump? Or is that Miss International? Or Miss Universe?

I'm amazed this is still going! Does anyone actually watch it? What does it mean. It's certainly hasn't been relevant in the UK for decades!

Oh and I forgot the UK is the world. Guess thats why they'll be invading Ecuador soon.

It actually gets high viewing figures in China, India, South America and parts of Europe that are not the UK.

Compared to Miss Universe its rather stale but I'll try and watch anyhow.

Is this a week long event? It was held in a retractable roof stadium with a capacity crowd of 40,000.

Opening ceremony in Ordos City Dongsheng district!

In Ordos, seriously?

Maybe they can fill some of their massive ghost town with the Miss World Contestants.

Will be rooting for Miss China since Venezuala is pretty underwhelming this year.

Yeah I don't like China's winner this time. She looks ok, but too unnatural for my taste, as in she's like a robot manufactured by China to win this pageant.

Apparently Myleene Klass is presenting it  I'd imagine that's the only reason anyone here would've heard about it.

I actually watched the final part of the telecast. I had a feeling India wasn't going to win. Too bad, she would have had Bollywood movies lined up 12 months later. :awww:
She seemed quite eloquent. :)

Miss World only allows competitors from planet Earth whilst Miss Universe features competitors from the entire Universe.

I think Universe is unfair, there's bound to be some as-yet unknown Martian space slug that hasn't been entered because we don't know it exists.

Do they even invite participants from other planets?

It's all a bit biased towards planet Earth.

That would be Kangbashi, Ordos. It seems to be some sort of on going experimentation. Miss World 2012 took place in Ordos' Dongsheng district (Dongsheng Fitness Center Stadium).

Oh My. Miss India just cannot do a Mujra. :o Love this classic song, but the costume(read dupatta) is all wrong for this performance. Should have chosen a contemporary Bollywood number instead of a classic which requires training.Oh well. Cringeworthy.
