Hi, I was wondering if any Poles could give some advice on learning your language ;) I am jealous of most European countries who have their own language but also learn English as a standard.
I've studied French and German at high school but they never stuck with me. I would really love to learn Polish as a second language. There are a number of reasons for this.
On a personal level I would just love to be able to converse in a language other than my own. I do love English, but think we aren't as lucky as most other nations are bilingual, and English is so widely used we don't need to learn others, but I would like to :) I've studied English at degree level and do love it, but would like to learn Polish too.
Other reasons are I sometimes wear a 'Polska' t-shirt which was given to me by a family member who visited Krakow. I've been stopped numerous times in town if wearing it, and have been embarrassed not knowing how to respond.
So I would appreciate any advice or tips, as I can't afford expensive software to help at the moment. It is not urgent, but I would like to build some confidence on a basic level, before being in a better situation to perhaps take up a course at Uni.
So thanks and...do widzenia :wavey:
