The ONLY artist featured twice on the list, Britney for a song that was way ahead of its time Toxic. All the other artists on there were following trends with their hits.

It's not like Britney had anything to do with writing or producing that song though. It could have been anyone. In fact, according to Wikipedia it was originally offered to Kylie Minogue but she rejected it. :tape:

Kylie. Without a doubt.

That happens with a LOT of songs. Umbrella was first offered to Britney who turned it down and Rihanna made it a huge hit. She owes her entire music career to a song that Britney rejected.

Having the vision, the foresight and choosing a song like that to be on her album and release it as a single was A HUGE RISK that paid off handsomely.

Voted for JT for superficial reasons only :oh:.

This. Actually I don't remember hearing that Mariah's song, and all I remember about that Justin's song was that it was crap, luckily I've forgotten it. But Kylie's song is the best by a big margin.

Pretty much mirror this. I'd never even heard the Mariah song before looking it up. Probably because she didn't have the best success in the UK/EU, whereas Kylie dominated. (Similarly, Kylie has always lacked real success in the states too).

Difficult choice...I was stuck between We Belong Together and Crazy In Love, but I voted for Crazy in Love in the end

The only thing I remember about Mariah's song is the video.
I feel Kylie's had much better songs than Can't Get You Out Of My Head, in particular On A Night Like This.

The same for Britney, really, I never got all the fuss about Toxic.

It's a shame that these songs apparently are the best songs of the zero's. Worst musical decade ever than. Thank god there've actually been some good sonds made, they're just not on this list :help:

i voted for toxic. it is a good song with good production. i doubt it was even the best song from that year let alone the decade but this one got through to the final. imo, the only year where the best song of the 10 to pick from actually got through was the shittest one, 2009 :tape:

the naughties decade was better than this, really.

What a selection. :help: I went for Lady Gaga even though Poker Face isn't one of my favourite songs. I liked some of Kylie's songs from that period but I never got into Can't Get You Out Of My Head. The fact it was ubiquitous didn't help either.

No, Janet Jackson. Oh wait :oh:

Janet is an artist who shaped pop music with others like Madonna.
What has talentless Shitney done besides a couple of catchy songs? :oh:
She should be thankful to Kylie for rejecting Toxic because she was ignored since I'm a Slave 4 U on the US radio until she released Toxic

Why do you care so much about US radio ? Do you live in the US ?

As for your comments RE: Janet check your rep (and the post i repped you on)

I don't but we all know that it's very important for many mainstream artists to perform well in the US because it's the biggest music market.
As for your rep, I'm pretty realistic about her chance of being relevant again which brings us back to the importance of radio support. I have no idea about the rest of her fans.

Too bad gifsoup is blocked in Saudi Arabia :help:

That's why I used WW chart instead of Billboard.
Too many R&B and Hip Hop songs are unknown outside the US.
