Klishina isn't selected for the Olympics

What :speakles: On her official website it says she is working and preparing hard for the Olympics.
25th of June, source http://www.daryaklishina.com/darya-makes-final-preparations-for-london./
Darya is currently in training in Sochi in Southern Russia. Preparations for London are going very well and Darya is in a very positive mood, as her fans can see from her frequent Facebook updates and Tweets. Darya is, of course, becoming almost as famous for her looks as her athletic abilities. When she is not on the track, Darya is usually very busy with modelling assignments and photo shoots. However, all of these will be put to one side for the next month or two as Darya sets her sights on fulfilling the ambition she has held since she was a child; to become an Olympic Gold Medallist.

^ he's right.

she's not on this list : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russia_at_the_2012_Summer_Olympics#Athletics

Could be wikipedia is wrong because this was posted on her official website 2 days ago

The Women’s Long Jump gets underway on Tuesday August 7th and with just two weeks to her Olympic debut, Darya is in great spirits. Her form has improved throughout 2012 and Darya arrives in London in great shape to challenge for a medal. And who knows, perhaps when Darya steps up for her next modelling assignment, the caption may read as: “Darya Klishina, Olympic Champion!”

The Russian team is also here (on a much more trustworthy website than wikipedia) http://eng.rusathletics.com/nov/news.11713.htm and there's no mention of her.

Nor is she included here;
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/olympics/2012/sports/athletics/events/womens-long-jump/athletes

From what I heard, they were trying to include her at the time but the selectors just went with the top three from the Russian Champs.

It always seems like poor Asafa!

But, yeah, he seems a nice guy too.

The 100m race was so stacked. Amazing.

Andy Murray - Can't stand him losing again at Wimbledon just a few weeks later, time to go for gold!!! :)
:D

In the Olympics it's best of 3 sets for the men, so I wouldn't be surprised if Murray wins the gold. His chances will be a lot better there than best of 5 sets at the slams.

It was 3 of 5 sets for the men's final.

Valerie Adams didn't come close to defending Olympic shot put title sadly . Another medal for NZ though :yeah:.

Ostapchuk was too good. Threw better than Adams' personal best in like three different throws.

Now that Bolt and Venus came through (Serena too). I really want to see David Rudisha blow away the field in the 800. :) Also, I'd love to see Lashinda Demus win. Her family was so cute the other day, the boys, "go, Mommy!" :awww:

Congrats to Kelly Wells, Dawn Harper, and Sally Pearson!

Seriously? Reaction from the crowd in her home town, Bray, Co. Wicklow, Ireland

Our commentator did not manage to find one single loss in her career! Is this true?

Please round 2 was overscored anyway, nobody should have gotten anything from what I saw yet Ochigava led by one. Ochigava should take her stank ass attitude into the gym and train more :o

The only time she beat Katie was with a massive home judging decision in Russia.

Hoping Thorkildsen can win his third olympics javelin title in a row. Norway have had such a bad games, they desperately need something to celebrate.

At first I didn't like her, but I've really warmed up to her. She seems like a really sweet girl.

Edit: and I almost forgot, but she has the same name as my sister! Except my sister has an H at the end.

Do you think there's a chance that she will compete in Rio?
