When you have an issue with your picks, contact the organizer for its category.

How does it work?

-Contestants can choose which categories they want to participate in, obviously the more categories you play, the higher your chances of winning the overall medalrankings!
-Contestants will attempt to guess the eventuel medal winners in each event listed under a category. For each correct pick they will earn a medal. (Guessing a gold medal winner in an event will earn you a gold medal for the medal rankings and so on)
-There will be medal rankings for each category and an overall medal ranking.
This means we will have a total of 8 podia. (7 categories and 1 overall medal rankings)
-We will offer links to entrylists and draws, but you will have to do the research on who to pick yourself!

How the rankings work?

Participants will be ranked based on the color first and then amount of their medals.
For example: A participant that won 1 gold medal will be ranked higher then a participant who won 20 silver medals, but no gold medals.

Rankings TIEBREAKER - What happens when you have the same amount of medals as someone else inside a category or overall?

1. The person who has the most PERFECT PODIUMS(all 3 picks for 1 event right) wins. Each perfect podium will earn you an olympic diploma. So the one with the most olympic diploma's wins.

When a category has ended and there is still no decision after the first tiebreaker

2. the one who has the most medalists(picks that a person has made, but for the wrong color of medal) will win. So for example: If someone picked an athlete for a gold medal, but that athlete ended up winning silver, that athlete will be counted for this tiebreaker. So the one with the higher number of medalists will win.

3. For the overall rankings the same tiebreakers apply, but for all categories together!

How to Register/Join the game?

Register by posting IN in this thread. We're doing this to see how many interested people there are.
We will allow all people that send in picks to join the game. Just send picks to organizers before the deadlines and you are in the Contest.

How to send in picks?

Private Message the organiser of the category the following:

Your Username
The country you're representing
Categoryname
Eventname: Gold: athlete name Silver: athlete name Bronze: athlete name
Eventname: " ": " "
"" ""

Put your picks for 1 event on 1 line! Otherwise it's very hard for us to find all the picks. We will not be counting picks if it's too time consuming.

You cannot send in picks after the deadlines: read post #9 Deadlines (http://www.tennisforum.com/showpost.php?p=21868104&postcount=9)

For this game, Athletics consists of 24 events and 72 picks !

You can enter as many categories as you want and can win one of those. I know it will be time-consuming, but the interesting parts are actually sports you don't know much about. ^^ To win the whole event you have to participate in all categories. :oh:

You can pick the events you like cause i can understand it's time consuming. But the podium are made up of all categories and an overall. So if you only play certain events in 1 category chances you win that category are obviously smaller(as well as the overall ranking) :)

#updated tennis/teamsports/athletics.

Next update will be #cycling, #gymnastics and #swimming. After those are updated i will open registration and you can write yourself in in this thread. So we will have an indication of how many people will be playing.

Picks can be sent in starting tomorrow(I will let you know), but obviously for some categories/picks you'd like to wait before the draws come out. Like for tennis.

:wavey: Hope i informed enough and everything is clear.

Updated #cycling and #swimming. Later tonight/tomorrow we will finish entry lists of Gymnastics/Mixed Events.

But we've decided that REGISTRATION has opened. :cheer: We need to get a sense of how many people will be participating. Post in this thread now stating you're IN if you will be partcipating in the event! You will be written down on the participant list.

You can decide later yourself how many categories you'll be participating in.(by sending picks) We understand it's time consuming to make all these picks. If you want to have a chance to win the overall medal rankings you will likely have to participate in ALL categories though. And we of course would love and encourage it if you'd participate in all categories!

Tomorrow evening european time PICKS will be opened and you can start sending PM's to the organizers. Be aware that for the tennis event a draw still has to be released. In your interest it might be better to wait for the draw before sending picks. ;)

If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask! We are here to help!

No, only from the right picks.

Picks are open! :cheer: :bounce: :D You can send your Private Messages to the organizers starting NOW!
If there are any questions don't hesitate to ask it here in this thread or ask 1 of the organizers. :)

How to send in picks?

Private Message the organiser of the category the following:

Your Username
Categoryname
Eventname: Gold: athlete name Silver: athlete name Bronze: athlete name
Eventname: " ": " "
"" ""

Put your picks for 1 event on 1 line! Otherwise it's very hard for us to find all the picks. We will not be counting picks if it's too time consuming.

You cannot send in picks after the deadlines: read post #9 Deadlines (http://www.tennisforum.com/showpost.php?p=21868104&postcount=9)

:) Nice to hear you're all working on it! :)

Thanks, glad I checked. Haha it's been quite the work in progress, 10 mins here, 10 mins there, some porn then another 10 mins there.

No, you don't have to do that. If you follow the links from the post you will go to the list of that certain event.(look on the right and you will see the event and can even change to an other event in that sport) :)

Heey everyone, here is the update with the decision on a rankings tiebreaker. So what happens when we have participants with the same amount of medals inside a category.
I hope this is clear, if you don't understand, i will try to explain it more.

Rankings TIEBREAKER - What happens when you have the same amount of medals as someone else inside a category or overall?

1. The person who has the most PERFECT PODIUMS(all 3 picks for 1 event right) inside the category wins.

Do we have to pick which sports we want now or do we say we're in?

Just say you're in is enough and then you can decide for yourself how many categories by sending in picks for the categories you want to play. :D We encourage doing them all though. :oh:

In post #9 you can find the deadlines for sending in picks. :)

And I'd just like to publically say a big thank you to Schlampanascier for noticing that one of my picks actually withdrew through injury :)

Yes, before the deadlines you can change your picks when there's a withdrawl. Just pm the organizer with the issue. :) After the deadline it's bad luck! ;)

heads up, she might not be able to swim. So here we will see the luck part involving the competition :oh: :

Swedish swimmer Therese Alshammar injured

LONDON (AP) - Swedish team officials say swimmer Therese Alshammar could miss the London Olympics due to a pinched nerve in her neck, which would leave the country without one of its biggest medal hopes.

Team doctor Rene Tour told Swedish broadcaster SVT that the nerve is causing pain in Alshammar's neck and right shoulder.

Tour says: "If we can get the swelling down she should be able to swim, but if the nerve pain remains it's impossible to complete the rotation of the shoulder."

The 34-year-old Alshammar, a two-time Olympic silver medalist, is considered one of the top contenders in the 50- and 100-meter freestyle sprints. She will miss the 4x100 freestyle relay because of the injury.

Tour says Alshammar has to "take one day at a time. This could pass in a few days, or last a couple of months."
