OK :lol:

mostly when THA people wrote their name in English, they have 2 main systems:
1. Government rules
G sound, K Sound, you have to wrote in in K
that's why it becomes a joke when someone said "who sold chicken's egg" because that stupid heck rule will wrote the pronunciation likes "krai kai kai kai"
and note that "ai" means "aï" if you know French
and if you know German would be easier for those "ue" because it will be "ü", Polish in "y" or Russian will be "ы"
oe means "ö" (for DEU) or "er" "ir" "ur" (for some English word)
but you have to know that we have "unusual too much alphabet" yeah you might have "C" and "K" sound-alike sometimes but we have ค, ฅ, ฆ, so on :lol:

2.Pali-Sanskrit rules
ok if you know basic Indian you might understand this a bit easier for what we wanna express :lol:

but for sure I can't teach you to understand my language in here, it will be like 200 pages thesis in 1 post, which is unavailable :lol:

are you interest to saw their name in phonetics then? :lol: I'll might do later, just choose the one whom you like to know their name ;)

They are based on Pali-Sanskrit. If you are used to Indian names (you are in IT I think) these should be similar names.

You're right, but the majority of Indian names I've encountered were at least pronounceable on sight, without me having to analyze them first. Again, there's a reason for the tongue-in-cheek smiley on my OP. ;)

What? Indian names sound very different today. The connections are difficult to see unless you look deeply.

there is some comparable stuff for Indian between Thai

Vijay = Vichai
Anuj = Anucha
Sanjay = Sanchai
Subodh = Suphot/Suphoj/Supot/Supoj (depends)
Ashok = Asoke (like the road name)
Viraj = Virat

for example ;)

Tamarine is the only one acceptable :facepalm:

oh yes she was born in the States.
