According to his letter, I thought is was more bisexual. Then again, after reading it, I think he's gay.

When they announced last week that a young singer is going to come out soon, I thought it was going to be either Bruno Mars or Drake.
But good on Frank :)

He's not gay? I read that as bi.

I'm more appalled by his poor spelling and lack of grammar than his bisexuality.

I'm more appalled by his poor spelling and lack of grammar than his bisexuality.I'm going to assume that he was kinda "shooting from the hip" with the letter. I would imagine that he'd type/write in edited English format if the letter were for an English class.

Wow. I have to say I didn't see this one coming. He's the only guy in the R&B/hip-hop scene that I can think of that's out. Respect for him.

This was very moving to me:
I sat there and told my friend how I felt. I wept as the words left my mouth. I grieved for them, knowing I could never take them back for myself. He patted my back. He said kind things. He did his best, but he wouldn't admit the same. He had to go back inside soon. It was late and his girlfriend was waiting for him upstairs. He wouldn't tell me the truth about his feelings for me for another 3 years. I felt like I'd only imagined reciprocity for years. Now imagine being thrown from a cliff. No, I wasn't on a cliff, I was still in my car telling myself it was gonna be fine and to take deep breaths. I took the breaths and carried on.

Poor spelling? No (at least not at the level that someone should be "appalled"). Lack of grammar? Do you know what grammar is?

This was very moving to me:
I found the whole letter to be quite moving :awww: Really proud of him, and as was mentioned, being out in Rap/Hip-Hop is virtually unheard of, so he should be commended.

Nate, I would cut him some slack on the grammar and spelling. :p Like Pureracket said, it likely would have been edited appropriately if it were being submitted in an English class. ;)

Good for him, even though it may be risky for his career. I listened to one of his interviews after hearing this news and he seems to be a very cool guy.

Damn, he's so hot. And he'll be in DC on July 23. The show is sold out, but hopefully I can find a way to get a ticket. I want to be Frank's second love. :hearts:

I know! I was listening to several songs on "Nostalgia, Ultra" last night and it was like hearing the album for the first time!I know right! To me, it just shows that Frank's songs are and always have been about love, and love is something that all people can relate to. Male, female, gay, straight, bi.

Today is a big day for hip-hop. It is a day that will define who we really are. How compassionate will we be? How loving can we be? How inclusive are we?

I am profoundly moved by the courage and honesty of Frank Ocean. Your decision to go public about your sexual orientation gives hope and light to so many young people still living in fear. These types of secrets should not matter anymore, but we know they do, and because of that I decided to write this short statement of support for one of the greatest new artists we have.

His gifts are undeniable. His talent, enormous. His bravery, incredible. His actions this morning will uplift our consciousness and allow us to become better people. Every single one of us is born with peace and tranquility in our heart. Frank just found his.

Frank, we thank you. We support you. We love you.

-Russell Simmons

The only thing I see as a whiff is "compassionate." No one needs compassion for the flavor of their sexuality - whether that flavor is by choice or "by birth." Apart from that little nit-pick though - kudos to him on this.

Good on him for coming out considering the genre of music he is in. I check out 4 or 5 music news sites daily: a punk one, a general one, a indie one, and a r&b/hip hop one. Guess which one hasn't mention this? Hint: its not the punk one.

Frank is dope, I couldn't care less that he's bi/gay/whatever. Me and my buddies are going to see him in Montreal at the end of the month, should be a sweet show. I think my favourite response was someone on twitter saying: "doesn't matter to me, I'm still going to bang broads to his songs" Amen.

Kk, lets not hate on my bad choice in players. I like a bunch others, but those + Aga + Goerges maybe. I want all the old players to retire. But, Frank, yeah. Anyone read Tyler the Creators comments yet?
