Wozniacki leads their H2H 3-1 over Kanepi but this will be their first meeting on clay. Their first 3 meetings were 3 set affairs with Wozniacki winning their last one in straights where the 2nd set was decided in a tiebreaker. In 2012, Kanepi has won titles at Brisbane and Estoril while Wozniacki has made only one final(loss to Kerber at Copenhagen). Who win this matchup?

Sweet baby Jesus please forgive me. In the coming days I will lit candles and perform ancient pagan rituals in favour of the Norse gods Heimdallr, Vilir and Ullr so Kaia can slay Carobot in straight sets.

it's all down to Kanepi's racket; we know she will be the one forcing the game and keeping low UEs account, she will win. If she is missing, then Wozza!

I think caro will win this just because Kaia choked against Aga last week.

I have trouble with this match. You see Iím a Caro fan and cheer for her against almost anyone. But my parents (both dead now) were Estonians who immigrated to the US and I grew up speaking Estonian at home. So naturally Iím a Kaia fan as well. Therefore I am predicting a tie.

They will each win a set and the third set will continue without a winner emerging as darkness sets in to suspend play until the next day. However round three will prove to be the most bizarre round in history of slams as all of the top seeded players will lose. Yes Azarenka will lose to Wozniak, Na Li will lose to McHale for example and for good measure Sharapova will lose her 2nd rd delayed match. The highest seed left will be Penneta at #18 who beats Kerber #10.

A deranged Caro hater will notice that in such situation Caro will be a lock to win the tournament and the WTA will be ruined. Thus to save the WTA the deranged Caro hater will kidnap Caro from her hotel room so she could not show up for the resumption of play and Kaia would be declared winner by default.

But at least Caro wonít have been defeated on the tennis court.

It doesn't make much sense to pray to the Norse gods to make a Scandinavian lose against a non-Scandinavian. I think the gods favor home girls.

On any other surface Kanepi would be the favorite. But not on clay. Caro will lose to Goerges in R4 ;)

Actually neither is Scandinavian, so it's a tie with the gods!

They've never met on clay, but looking at their strengths this should be the best surface for Kaia to play Caro on. She hits the heavier but as always it will be down to the number of errors, and so far Caro has hit 14 in two matches so she will be a tiny favorite. Still, Kaia has hit more winners and has held her errors in check so don't count her out.

Caro is a Danish citizen, born and raised. That makes her a Scandinavian no matter what ethnicity her parents are.

It's all up to Kaia.

If she plays well, Caro is f*cked.

Caroline in 2. Kanepi is useless. Who knew a title in Brisbane could sustain your over-hype for nearly 6 months?

Kaia in 2. Against aga she was up 5-1 because she was playing lots of deep balls with topspin. Aga dealt with these by stepping in and trying to hit winners, meaning Kaia didn't always get the easy ball. But Caro will just run back and lob it. And Kaia has become more consistent now, and has the ability to come to net. I think that given Caro's confidence and Kaia's form, Kaia should win in 2 close sets like 4 and 3 or something of the kind :)

Caro will win in typical Caro fashion. It's the most likely outcome.

Kaiaīs form isnt good enough atm to beat Wozniacki, plus the slow surface doesnt help at all.

Wozniacki in two, one close, one easy.

Caro will win, easily. Unless she plays mediocre, then I'll say she'll win in 3. Only way Kanepi is winning this is if she plays amazing while Caro plays absolute crap.

Kanepi will probably put herself in a good position to win a set or even the match, but won't be able to close it out! Wozniacki in 2 or 3 sets, I'd say!

Slightly ignorant

totally ignorant

kaia's winner/ ue ratio on clay has been POSITIVE in both matches at RG and I think she did very well aslo in Brussels on this account. she has been very conistent on clay, albeit not in brisbane-like form. kaia's definitely a clay court specialist and wozniacki will struggle with her topspin. if kaia can stick to her gameplan and not rush it, she should prevail. it will be a tough match, though, possibly a three-setter.

I think Woz is getting to the quarters. Kanepi has the match on her racket, and she might sneak out a set, but Woz will prove too consistent.

I want to see Caroline get another chance at Julia, who is going for 4 in a row vs Caroline.
But I expect this to be very close

And shouldn't you just be worrying about Kaia right now?

A little presumptuous aren't we?
