Come on Sloane. Win and you are practically going to the Olympics!
Mathilde will probably choke....and then Sloane will choke...leading to legendary hot mess of chokery.

I've supported both here in Estoril when they played here. I'll be happy whoever wins, though I guess since this is her home tournament I'm leaning to Mathilde. But if she plays how she did against Cetkovska she should comfortably make 4R.

Who would have thought?
Allez Slo'! :rocker2:

If Sloane isn't too nervous and can deal with the crowd, she should win this comfortably.

The best teenager :cheer:

Sloane crumbled against flavia in rome, granteed better player but the crowd were a factor...

Mathilde is probably the crowd's favorite among French girls, so Sloane better be ready.

It should be nice match :)

I am pulling for you Sloane!

Hope/think Mathilde will, but it wouldn't surprise nor disgust me at all if Sloane did, I like that girl.

C'mon Sloane!! :cheer:

I really want Johansson to win this, her ball striking abilities are amazing I watched her play Petra today she moves that ball around the court, she is so underated if she gets her head together definately top 50. What is her best surface?

But if she plays how she did against Cetkovska she should comfortably make 4R.Never saw Stephens play so I find your post very reassuring. :yeah: The question is, will she be allowed to play the way she did versus Cetkovska.

Hoping Sloane. but Mathilde is a tough player. But she also chokes a lot, so this match is really up for grabs. If Sloane can take advantage, this will be a huge step for her.
She definitely needs more wins/more points/higher ranking -> more TV appearance(<- or do i? ;))

I tend to lean to Johansson. Bigger ball-striker, more comfortable on the surface. Remains to be seen whether the crowd buoys her or proves a ridiculous handicap.

Sloane on 3 :bounce:

I wonder if Sloan knows what's all on the line. If I were on her team I'd shied her from as much as I could so she wouldn't feel any extra pressure. I like both layers but I'm pulling for Slo!

I think if Sloane plays to her potential, she can make it highly competitive. If she lets the crowd get to her, then it's over. I do think that Mathilde might end up back on Chatrier.

Sloane :cheer: But can totally see her choking this :o

Seems as though Sloan was underrated in this thread. II admit to have only seeing her play a couple of times. And honestly she wasn't nearly as good as I saw her today against Johanson. So now we know she has game. The next question is does she have the mental strength to play like that against the top seeds- we shall see...
