Have anyone ever seen Maria Sharapova cry? I'm just wondering. I don't think I've ever seen her crying, even when winning slams or losing matches.

EDIT:

Guys, when I said "crying", I meant this kind of level:

Didn't she have some tears in her eyes during that match against Venus at Wimbledon 2005? My dad actually pointed it out to me. She was really young then though.

AO 2O12 she had a look like she was gonna genuinely murder someone. She was furious but no tears. Closest thing is Vee 05 Wimbly SF, she was close to tears on court and almost let them spill in presser but didn't. Only other example is after her loss to Flavia at USO* in her presser some people like to claim she was crying but she didn't even look on the verge of tears so...

*I am well aware this loss never happened.

She had tears in her eyes in the AO final this year. She also went into the locker room right after losing to the vulture in Miami.

There were reports she was crying and punching the wall in the lockerroom between the 2nd and 3rd sets of her QF with Petrova at the 2005 USO.

Cry like sobbing not really, but tears rolling out or being close to yes, a few matches that come to my mind: AO 07 and AO 12 (during the waiting for the ceremony) and during the injury timeout in Tokyo, during her speech in YEC 2007, Wimby 2005...

Maybe she cried on April 19, 1987? Maybe.

Like I said, not crying, more teary-eyed than actual cry. The same goes with Venus' match, she was not literally crying... Like the ones Julian posted... Haven't seen her "actively" cry aka sob on court (which is good imo)... A few tears were shed also in AO this year when she was putting her watch on and she did cry in her injury MTOs last year (I assume out of pain)... Now I am not sure if it was Tokyo or IW (or where did she injure the ankle)...

EDIT: she does not look different to me. She has matured a bit, but her mannerisms have not changed since she was a junior.

Maria doesn't cry in public. The most close she came in Madrid 2007 after the YEC final against Henin. You could see the tears in her eyes. The reason was happiness she could compete again at the highest level. She had a shoulder injury which Juan was able somehow to heal and made her participation in YEC possible. The road to AO 2008 was opened in Madrid 2007. From that time till now Maria and Juan are always together.

She was very emotional in her speech after winning the 2008 Australian Open, but I don't think there were any gushing tears. Same with the 2007 YEC after losing to Henin.

From my perspective, She is not that kind of a person. She gets disppointed if she loses a match but not desperate or hopelessly sad to cry. Great example is even after having that horrible shoulder problem, she worked hard and came back instead of getting emotional or desperate and giving up. I like her attitude regarding that.

Ok enough with my praises for BB...she harrassed Vika after Stuttgart and she is bitter about her AO loss to my gurl, so I hate her:fiery:

Very, very dignified and upbeat speech - funny, rueful, quite wise and graceful. Yes, a little teary eyed for a few brief moments, but not sobbing or weeping or even tears running down the face. Just very very dignified and graceful. She reminds me of Monica in that respect.

Hmmm. It was deffo this match. I think I saw it from a different angle. I remember seeing the highlights right before her semi with Ana that year. Mary Carillo was talking about it being on the greatest fight backs of her career (at that point) and they showed her with tears in her eyes right after MP. Weird.

When you think about it though, it's not a huge surprise. It was a pretty one-sided final, and this victory has been such a long time coming it probably hasn't sunk in yet. She also doesn't seem the type to cry in public. I'm sure she had some tears when she got back into the locker room.

Yup. I was yelling 'CRY' the whole time and the anthem was the closest. But not a single tear was dropped that day, except from Sara Errani. It proves that while Maria Sharapova does indeed have tear ducts, they do not function well enough to allow one to drop.

Didn't she admit crying after that dramatic AO 2005 semifinal with Serena?
And her father calming her down with his wise words about "not sprint but marathon"?
She was very young then, still only 17. And it really was worth crying over it. Crying a lot.
Many Masha's fans cried. I was is shock for days. Got into drinking vodka a lot.

As to the 2007 final, forget it. She was actually pretty proud and almost in disbelief she even reached that final considering her shoulder flared up badly in Hong Kong just before AO, and she almost lost in the first round.
I also remember she had to retire in the middle of a match the next week in Tokyo because of the continuing shoulder problem.
So it was a great achievement, considering, and she was not in the frame of mind to cry.
