That was brilliant Pironkova!!!!!!! She is playing pretty well. Wickmayer honestly tried her best today. Plus, she had the crowd on her side.

P.S Please someone give the hot chick a sponsor. Hello there Adidas, Nike??

PIRONKOVA!!! Awesome match, thank you

I've never liked Wickmayer's attitude but her fans were even worse :help: A bunch of brainwashed chavs who should be banned from attending tennis events for life.

Ohhh, that's mean no good play at Wimbly. She is playing this way in only one grand slam tournament per year:sobbing:

Great win! :oh:

Let's hope so!

Those two times, they were both at Wimbledon yes? She is obviously a GOAT once she passes her 2nd round obstacle!

Yanina :o Without these double faults and stupid errors you're definitely the winner of this :( At least Pironkova is now an easy pick (to not do) if i'm in TT R3 (which is not done at all) :oh:

Fans should really enjoy it before it is her ass to be kicked :wavey:

Great job Pironkova but crowd was the worst I have seen in years maybe even the worst of all time. Pironkova did not do anything ever since the first point of the match they acted atrociously, cheering when Pironkova made a double fault or error even after Yanina took an extended break after being wiped out in the second set and than tried to cheat on a point, argued with umpire, fist pumped at her opponent's errors and so forth, I am sorry but in all the years that I have watched tennis I have never seen something like this so disgusting.

Some great tennis From Pironkova, took her some time to get into the match but ones she was into it, the serve was great, forehand better than ever, her backhand good as always, volleys well placed, almost everything was working! Glad she won this and especially vs a crowd and opponent such as this. Yanina is the most annoying, disrespectful player I have ever seen on the tour and her supporters even worse.

28 winners to 13 unforced erros for Pironkova, 4 aces, some big first serves especially in the second and third set. Great job and good luck!

I didn't watch all of it, but I didn't notice any rude behaviour from Wickmayer or the crowd. They were just cheering for Yanina.

Great first set from Yanina, and then she turned into pure shit.
When did Pironkova become so errorless? She played really well :yeah:

Thank you Tsvetana. :hearts: Didn't let the crowd or Yanina's occasional tantrums get into her head and played a very strong match.

I've never really had anything against Wickmayer, but I can see why people dislike her. Throwing her racket, arguing with the umpire... :help:

I only saw them cheer one DF and that was right after they thought Nina got cheated.
Of course they shouldn't do that, but I've seen way worse behaviour...

With this form on clay, Tsveti's definitely gonna win Wimbledon and the Olympics.

Spring Pools
May 29th, 2012, 03:50 PM
You know why Pironkova's playing GOAT tennis here? She sees Venus on the other side of the draw and knows that if she gets Venus in the final, it's a 62 63 win in the bag.

I missed all of this, but the Queen of BUL winning and Witchmayer losing make me a very happy boy. Especially since it sounds like Witchmayer was at her sour best, and she even had the crowd support.

Grass goat transcending her grass power onto clay :cheer:

SVK
May 29th, 2012, 05:42 PM
It´s interesting how the things are changing, she couldn´t win a match on grass to save her life before 2010, now she is a grass GOAT, unable to play on clay etc etc:p I know she is able to play more than just a junk, everybody who followed her pre 2010 career knows, she is able to hit bombs and winners left and right, when she has a good day (yes, even from forehand), and it probably happened today.

6-0 to Pironkova on clay :inlove:

May 29th, 2012, 06:03 PM
Well, Pironkova hasn't lost a slam 1R in 2 years and she made Brussels QF last week, so this isn't that surprising.

She will probably lose 2R now.

Why is everyone astonished that stans of a player like Wickmayer were acting like complete assholes?

Uranus
May 30th, 2012, 01:30 AM
It's hard to believe this girl was close to cracking top 10 not long ago. Hits as hard as she can and makes a shitload of UEs. She used to be much better, known for being able to play "percentage tennis" while hitting a good amount of winners. She needs a proper team around her, not only a father and coaches from the VTV.

The Kaz
May 30th, 2012, 02:01 AM
Pironkova NEVER loses in the 1R of a GS so I fully knew she would beat Wickmayer... it was NID. :D

The 2nd Law
May 30th, 2012, 02:04 AM
I will always admire Wickmayer for the pure fight and tenacity she showed in January 2010 - especially after being made to qualify for the AO and giving Justine a really good fight. Didn't she also win Auckland before that? Someone who can do that in the face of a scandal like she was going through is very brave imo. That being said, I was rooting for Pironkova here, the crowd was ridic :tape:
