Two big serves but Julia has a much more effective, solid game off the ground especially for this surface and that's the intergalactic difference between the two. :worship:

Lucie had her moment in fast-court grass Madrid, she'll be very dangerous for Wimbledon and the top player(s) who'll have the disadvantage of falling in her part of the draw and serve.

Well done Jules. I thought she must be winning by Hradecka errors when I saw the score but when I looked it was the best claycourt match I have seen from her this year. Keep it up and enjoy your small time left in singles. Hope she and sammy tear up the doubles field!!! :yeah:

Lucie :bigcry:

don't think this measurement was correct. she's a big server, but usually she serves with 180km/h, some wild serves are above 190km/h but not nearly 200km/h.

I don't agree, I think the difference is that Georges is just way more consistent. And Julia's serve is well placed and deep but it's not that big and certainly not in the same category as Hradecka's.

A 3R match Goerges - Razzano would be very interesting. Their only previous meeting (Miami 09) had Julia winning in a set 3 TB.

Hradecka has got the harder (Lisicki-like) bomb serve, but Julia's serve is the one more effectively lethal cuz it's better placed (kinda like Davenport) resulting in more aces and unplayables for Julia than her opponents with bigger bombs.

So no surprise that Jule's already at the top of RG's ace leaderboard, and there is a good chance that she will stay that way till the end.

lucie, those DFs:facepalm:

Well, Lucie had big cramps in her hand, she couldn't hold her raquet properly (form Lucie's interview after the match: "Na konci už jsem hlídala hlavně sama sebe. Pořád jsem přemýšlela, jestli raketu stisknout hodně a riskovat křeče, nebo málo a čekat, že mi vyletí" )

Good luck to Julia, I hope she will play some good tennis as she is a joy to watch when in form!
:)
