Nope it is Bartoli

Sony Ericsson Open Champion has withdrawn from the Family Circle Cup tournament, according to tournament officials. Radwanska, the #1 seed at the tournament, had not disclosed a reason for the withdrawal at the present time. But we imagine she’s suffering from dehydration, exhaustion and jubilation. WTA Rules require a reshuffling of position, whereby Marion Bartoli will move into Aga’s spot in the draw. Instead of playing the winner of Vesnina and Dubois, she will now move to Aga’s place and face the winner of Dushevina/Qualifier. More details to follow and FamilyCircleCup.com is working on the big story right now.

TheBoiledEgg
Apr 1st, 2012, 06:58 PM
OMG they had to put Bartoli in Aga's place :o

They should put 9th seed (Safarova) in slot n.1, not Marion :o

Bepa D will beat Bartoli

Erakovic now (S17) who else got moved? SW?
Bartoli (3) got Radwanska (1)'s spot
S.Williams(5) got Bartoli's
Safarova(9) got Serena's
Petrova(13) got Safarova's
Erakovic(17) got Petrova's

 is that it?

TheBoiledEgg

Shame about the zero-pointer. I suppose she could've turned up and tanked her match but I guess she has more respect for herself, her fans and the tournament than that. :) And she wants to keep this streak going of only having lost to Vika this year which means only playing when she's 100% ready.

actually it is not for sure ... it depends on which 2 P700 were Aga's "commitment tournaments"

for all we know her commitments could be Dubai / San Diego :tape:

oh, she is "injured" again
wright after winning title, how convinient

SoBizarre
Apr 1st, 2012, 08:00 PM
Yes the 0 goes on her ranking.

Why? Was Charleston one of the two commitment Premier 700 tournament for Aga? I think it wasn't, so she won't get a "0". She'll just do couple of days of autographs signing, playing with kids, watching her sister compete, and stuff like that...:p

I'm not surprised tbh. It's quite a gruelling schedule, and there's no point caining yourself to death over it. In Virtua Tennis terms, she's taken the rest ticket. :D

why you want Aga to rise to SEWTA #1

I bet this is not one of Aga's commitments ... if it was she would play one match and then withdraw :o

Radwanska made the right decision to skip Charleston. It is a minor event on American clay. Aggie needs rest and prepare for the European swing of the WTA tour.

Agreed. Look at Azarenka, she cained it non-stop until she couldn't perform anymore. Losing to Bartoli? Sheesh.

No tak stary, I was referring to her own admission about having played full-on, non-stop until she burned out, which was in her post-match report on the WTA site. :)
