World No.1 Victoria Azarenka suffered her first defeat of the year at the hands of Marion Bartoli on Wednesday at the Sony Ericsson Open. It was the Frenchwoman's third career victory over a reigning No.1.

thanks - quite interesting.
gives you some idea of how good nadia could have been, and once again how much serena, even when not ranked #1, still has the odds to win against anyone in the world, including the reigning #1 of any given time.
would be interesting to see all of these players win/loss records *without* serena. i figure it would drastically change venus' winning %, obviously.
Kuznetsova lost a fair share against Henin despite always pushing her.
