She is really tournament wh**ing to stay relevant. Not exactly sure that´s the way to go at age 27, especially when she changed her playing style to being more aggressive, which I thought was a result of losing a step. So she schedules like a young player, but plays like an older player. Well not that JJ has ever made a lot of sense. :tape:

For all the bad-mouthing this tournament gets that is actually a pretty decent group of seeds. Yes Caro should win, but there is some competition there.

Niculescu choosing to play here rather than clay in Barcelona

To be honest I'd been shocked if she played Barcelona over Copenhaguen, knowing that the faster the court, the better her game is working or in other worde, the slower the surface, the more obvious her lack of serve.

I hope she can reach the semifinal here and keep up her good indoor match form from Luxembourg and Paris.

Exactly. Monica is a much better player on faster courts and it is smart that she is taking advantage of an indoor event being scheduled during the clay season.

The only reason Copenhagen is being bad-mouthed is, Caroline is involved.

Look at the people bad-mouthing and making snipe remarks. Look at the people trolling, posting insults and vile comments in Caroline threads in general. It's a perfect match!

And agree. It's not a bad line-up for an International event and the strongest for the tournament so far (in it's 3rd year).

Before Miami I figured Kerber or Kanepi would have a good chance at this title.
Miami has me thinking Caroline might be ready to threepeat here.
But its a good field for an Int'l, and its keeping Caro away from The Masters this weekend

It's not the seeding or the players participating in this tournament. It's the lack of attendees outside of Caro's matches. For the most part there are more people on the court (players, ball boys/girls, the Chair and linespeople) than there are paying customers. The tourney is darn near rigged, for if Caroline doesn't get to the final the tourney will take a huge loss at the gate. Copenhagen by far is the worst-attended tennis event on the ladies schedule w/Barcelona a very close 2nd. It's embarrassing for the WTA.......

They can't create a good tennis audience in one year. Especially in country without big tennis tradition. If this tournament survives 5-6 years and Caroline remains player from TOP8, I guess the audience will be bigger. Even on non-Caroline's matches.

Other tournaments bite dust very quick too when the money vanish. Nothing unusual.

This is glory days of danish tennis. Why people sound so bitter? Its one international tournament that "nobody cares". While big tennis nations like Serbia/Czech/Romania cant even hold a tournament.
