Stacy and the SEWTA are praying that Lady Aga wins this match ... it sure won't look credible for the tour if a player who barely played in a year returns to take out their VIP player and two of the new Big Four including Lady Aga who has won the 2nd most matches in 2012 :tape:

Radwanska has no weapons to hurt Venus and Venus obviously knows how weak Aga's serve is...Venus is smart enough to know not to get into long, extended rallies with Radwanska (just like at their '08 US Open 4th round)...Venus will overpower Radwanska...But, I'm all for massacre of Aga since her recent attitude has been so bitchy...Hopefully, Venus has that fire and shows no mercy...I think Aga needs to book her ticket back to Krakow because it's her choice whether or not she takes her thrashing in the QF against Vee or in the SF against her nemesis Vika...If she was smart, she would take a thrashing by Vee, but again I wouldn't mind seeing her double bageled by Vika again and embarrassed...She needs another beatdown because the first one by Vika last week in Indian Wells might not have been enough to keep her in check...Another beatdown for good measure by Vee or Vika will suffice

Venus will have to be sharp and rush the net. Radwanska is the favourite and it depends on the type of day Venus is having.

Aga has no weapons to beat....

Glad we agree. There is a reason why Radwanska started getting more success when she got rid of the delusion that she is some sort of a Hingis, and developed into a shameless pusher.

Against Venus, Serena, Maria (and recently Vika) Aga loses matches in her head before they even begin...she does not give herself a fair chance to compete.

This beating will continue if Aga shows up scared and plays defensively the way she played against Vika at IW.

It is up to Aga to step up and show that she has finally matured and is ready to compete at the highest level, but I am not optimistic as her recent losing streak against Vika shows otherwise.

I kind of agree that the win would mean a lot for Aga's confidence, but only if both of them play their best. A win against average Venus may not do the mental trick and loss will obviously prolong Aga's lack of confidence in those situations.

I don't think Radwanska will be an easy opponent for Venus in any way. Aga has been playing well, only losing to Vika who has been by far the best player in 2012 so far, no shame in that. It will be very wrong to underestimate Radwanska.

Still, Venus in 3. I just want Venus to win this so badly, it would be icing on the cake if she can go the distance. Go Vee :bounce:

No the bookies say Aga is favoured (not the rankings), because Radwanska is a better player than Venus in 2012. And yes I think Radwanska´s defensive style will be more than enough to beat the 2012 version of Venus. I have now seen the Wozniak match and the 1st set of Ivanovic and I simply refuse to believe that there is some Venus GOAT mode that always appears, when I´m not watching. Until I see a different Venus with my own eyes I will pick Radwanska doing what she has done all year.

On paper, Venus leads the h2h. So, no matter the ranking or the bookies, she should have the advantage. In the last three matches, Venus has dominated Aga who hasn't been able to win more than four games.

All things being equal, Venus should win. But all things aren't: Venus is playing her first tournament in seven months, suffering from an autoimmune disease that causes fatigue, and has played three straight three-setters.

Agree that Venus hasn't played consistently well in the first rounds, BUT also not sure that Venus needs to be GOAT to beat Aga. ;)

This will be the toughest match for Venus so far. I believe that Rad has a better than 60% chance to win. If Rad is not sloppy in her shot placement, I predict she will win. Venus has been a 'trooper' so far, but her luck and inspired play will end with Rad.

For some reason on TF the H2H stats often get touted as the undisputed proof of who's going to win a match. Given the fact that they are based on periods when these players' relative rankings were much different than they are now (Venus was ranked higher than Aga in every single match they've played) I don't think the H2H says much in itself. However, combined with the fact that Venus has chalked up some pretty decent wins already AND knows her way around a tennis court at least as well as Aga does, the fact that Venus has beaten Aga pretty comfortably the last 5 times they've played is significant IMO, because it shows that she is basically comfortable with the way Aga plays.

If Aga doesn't win then it will look awful for her.

Venus errored her way through her last match and Aga could be a bridge too far, but if Venus controls the error rate then it's embarrassment all round for Aga.

BUT, it's Radwanska people. Venus loves drubbing playing Aga. I would HATE to see the sort of form Venus has to be in to lose to Aga, I find it hard to see that sort of form showing up tomorrow. Could be wrong, but Aga is just TOO good a match for Venus for me to be THAT worried about tomorrow.

There's a chance that Venus beats Petra, Aga, Vika, & Caro, all in 1 tournament!
This tournament has been great with cross generation matchups.
Hopefully that goes on another couple of years. The great players from 10 years ago were special. Good to have them around while the young generation tries to take over

Never underestimate Radwanska. She has only lost to Vika, the best player by far in 2012 so far. I don't think this will be an easy match for both players.

Hope Venus pulls this out. I'm rooting for her to go all the way.

I have no idea who to root for. I love Radwanska, but if she beats Venus, she'll just get another spanking by Vika in the semis. D:

:haha:

I was shocked so many people picked Ivanovic to win against Venus, no way she would win this, even against a Sjogren stricken Venus..... Ana is soooo afraid to play the Williams sisters for whatever reason.

Anyway, Venus will win this in 2 sets, one easy one tough

That's crazy. What do you mean she's just to afraid to play the sisters. Ana was playing good tennis against Venus. Her problem is that she just cant beat Venus because Venus is faster and has better defensive skills, and a better serve.

None of these girls are afraid of the Williams sisters. They just can't beat them when they are on their game. Just look at Venus' head-to-head with Ana.

Ana just thought Venus was gonna go away but she shut her down in the second and third sets.

So quit saying these players are afraid of the William sisters. Hell, their azzes have been playing ALL year long and their the ones who is suppose to be match tough. If anything, the sisters ought to be afraid of them.
