yeah but its not the same category. Its like comparing a WTA premier (700 000$) to a ATP 250 (300 000$ to 650 000$)

Not so. It's true that the ATP and the WTA got the same total $. But the WTA channeled more money to players. Even the players in early rounds get more.

I'm pretty sure Sydney does, but thats because its a bigger tourney for women than for men.

The ATP's isn't that good at the moment. It's a three-men show (sometimes four) but every match has crazy hype around it.
Federer-Harrison was packed.

It will hard for the WTA to justify the prize money if the crowds aren't there.
They need a new marketing team and fast.
