I think Schiavone is always a big danger for Marion no matter how poor shes playing... I hope someone can take her out.

Mar 6th, 2012, 10:55 AM
Lucie can defeat Fran....It's an open draw.....No news in France about Marion anyway.

Mar 6th, 2012, 06:33 PM
Kanepi :scared:

Mar 7th, 2012, 09:04 AM
R2 : Lepchenko or Panova

Alizé Molik
Mar 8th, 2012, 11:36 AM
I'm actually most worried about Kanepi. Early on is when Marion can be the most shaky sometimes and Kanepi on her day can play big tennis.

Mar 10th, 2012, 07:55 AM
Playing Lepchenko last on Court 1.

Mar 10th, 2012, 11:50 AM
Some news from IW. Marion had 8 days off due to injury. And she works now with a young french sparring partner who is -15 (very good french level) proposed by fft, but paid by Marion.

Mar 10th, 2012, 09:05 PM
Scheepers for Marion if Marion wins tonight.
Kanepy was rusty after a break and just lost her first round.

Mar 11th, 2012, 04:39 AM
Down 5-2 to lepchenko

Mar 11th, 2012, 05:51 AM
2-6 6-2 0-2 :sobbing:

Mar 11th, 2012, 06:15 AM
down 5-2 in the 3rd

Mar 11th, 2012, 06:28 AM
Back to 5-5 :D

Mar 11th, 2012, 06:32 AM
Breaks, 6-5 :)

Mar 11th, 2012, 06:38 AM
She won 2-6 6-2 7-5 in 2.5 hours, what a mess :sobbing:

Mar 11th, 2012, 07:45 AM
Dad was right not to be too optimistic. 1 day off now in order to rest.

R3 vs Chanelle Scheepers.

Mar 11th, 2012, 07:46 AM
Maybe this was the match she needed, gets some matchplay down.

Mar 11th, 2012, 08:00 AM
Dad said that they are in an emergency run. So, it's day after day in order to reach a good level of intensity.

Mar 11th, 2012, 09:21 AM
Where coach Walter did say that?
I don't know if it is right to claim it in the papers, that gives her oponents a lot of informations.

Mar 11th, 2012, 11:42 AM
His interview was edited friday in l'equipe. It seems that they have a new strategy. I feel that they don't want to run after points anymore, reason why she failed in 2008 and 2010. They are more open and take match after match. Because she's really confident with her level of play. And dad only said that she was 20% of capacity the day of practice recovery. But never gave an information about current intensity level. He just explained they are in a countdown process in order to reach as soon as possible 70% of intensity capacity.

And vincent Cognet wrote that Marion was more optimistic than coach due to this emergency run. That's all. She won anyway.

Mar 11th, 2012, 01:30 PM
Tough match and bad score but probably what Marion needed. Nothing like a real battle to get her rythim back somewhat hopefully.

Mar 12th, 2012, 08:30 AM
R3 vs Chanelle Scheepers : 2nd position on stadium 3.

Mar 12th, 2012, 07:38 PM
This illness thing over there is scaring me :scared: Safarova in R4 if she beats Scheepers.

Mar 12th, 2012, 08:20 PM
6-2 1-0 up, marions done 6df but must be returning good, scheepers yet to hold serve

Mar 12th, 2012, 08:38 PM
6-2, 6-0 over chani

got broken twice with some sloppy serving but chani never held serve once in the match

Mar 12th, 2012, 08:39 PM
yay! :D

Mar 12th, 2012, 08:39 PM
Good stuff!!! Very pleased with that :cheer: R2 was clearly just a blip after the lay-off. Hope she can beat Lucie, it should be tough as usual.

Mar 12th, 2012, 08:56 PM
just hoping she can avoid this stomach virus going around. Would love some sweet revenge against caroline in the QF

Mar 12th, 2012, 08:59 PM
Yeah I hope so too, shes usually the type to fall ill to these things :sobbing: Didnt realise the H2H with Lucie was 5-1  Last few matches have been 3 sets though.

Mar 12th, 2012, 09:02 PM
Yeah I hope so too, shes usually the type to fall ill to these things :sobbing: Didnt realise the H2H with Lucie was 5-1  Last few matches have been 3 sets though.

yeah, the H2H is a bit decieving because alot of their matches could have gone either way

Mar 13th, 2012, 12:40 PM
R4 vs Lucie Safarova: 5th position on stadium 2.

Mar 14th, 2012, 06:11 AM
Solid 6-1 6-4 win.

Versus VIP again in the QF, hopefully a repeat of last year :)

Mar 14th, 2012, 11:20 AM
She was sick last year too, no reason why she cant pull this off. Hope Ivanovic has one of her typical let-down performances.

Mar 14th, 2012, 12:47 PM
If she wins the title - she'll move to #6 and #2/3 in the race.
If she wins her QF - almost assured she will be #4 in the race :D

Mar 14th, 2012, 01:24 PM
great win for her

i did not expect it to be that easy

Mar 15th, 2012, 12:47 PM
1/4 vs Ana : 1st position on CC.

Mar 19th, 2012, 04:15 PM
Hope she recovered from illness. In Vika's quarter for Miami.

[7] Marion Bartoli (FRA) bye

Not a bad draw by any means until the QF.

Mar 19th, 2012, 08:32 PM
Very good draw to the QF. Her first aim should be to make it there. Who knows what can happen.

Mar 21st, 2012, 08:50 AM
Q placed : Polona Hercog or Jamie Hampton

Mar 22nd, 2012, 04:50 PM
R2 : Polona Hercog tomorrow

Mar 24th, 2012, 11:22 AM
R3 vs Simona Halep tomorrow.

Mar 24th, 2012, 02:09 PM
Dont mind seeing her lose sets if she reacts the way she did. Apparently it was a very good match so it seems theres no lingering effects of her virus from last week. She should make the quarters based on this draw... Would love to see a match with Azarenka.

Mar 25th, 2012, 11:08 AM
R3 : 1st position on court 1

Mar 25th, 2012, 06:03 PM
2nd serve in the glovebox. A win is a win.

Mar 25th, 2012, 06:32 PM
Exactly, every win counts! The 2nd set was a bit worrying but she pulled through and thats the important thing.

Mar 25th, 2012, 07:36 PM
Maria Kirilenko next....

Mar 25th, 2012, 08:17 PM
H2H 4-1, all wins in straight sets.

Mar 25th, 2012, 11:11 PM

pfffff..against S Halep...was down 2-5 in second set and saved 9 set points. Won 6-4 7-6. Incredible Marion.

Mar 25th, 2012, 11:43 PM
Im not even surpised
I wouldnt be surprised if she loses to Kiri either :sobbing:

But a good win, and good luck for the next match!

Mar 26th, 2012, 07:12 AM
R4 : 2nd position on court 2. No TV coverage.

Mar 26th, 2012, 06:00 PM
Marion def Kirilenko 6-1 6-2 :D

Was 0-2 down in the 2nd and won 6 games in a row :hearts:

QF against Vika or Domi :cheer:

Mar 26th, 2012, 06:04 PM
0-2 in the 2nd set? If i remember well, Marion led 1-0 and Makiri won her serve : 1-1

Anyways, it's a good and easy win.

Mar 26th, 2012, 06:11 PM
Marion is very solid this year  :worship:
Next, Vika

After Miami, no points to defend befor RG, she should maintain her place in top 8 :)

Mar 26th, 2012, 06:28 PM
She was down a break twice in the second set but not from 0-2 :p

Very solid so far this year indeed :hearts:

Probably Azarenka next (her matches against Cibulkova are usually tough). Hope she can just make it competitive.

Mar 26th, 2012, 06:33 PM
Even though it was obvious from the start that Kirilenko would not have any weapons to hurt Marion, I am really glad about this thrashing. The serve looked better especially. She has not scored any big win yet this year but her consistency has been very impressive. With a higher first serve percentage, Marion could give Vika some trouble. Despite that one-sided head-to-head, Marion always had chances in every of her matches against her.
Allez !

Mar 26th, 2012, 06:36 PM
Btw, she's at just over 7 million in prize money now.

Mar 26th, 2012, 06:55 PM
very happy for this win

i'll hope for the best against vika

Mar 26th, 2012, 06:56 PM
Love this result :hearts: Excellent to see some good form here at last, and just before probably her biggest match all year. Lets hope she can rise to the occasion. 16 wins already, great stuff.

Mar 26th, 2012, 07:40 PM
I did not expect to be so easy. now beat vika

Alizé Molik
Mar 26th, 2012, 08:36 PM
As always I have no illusions concerning the (potential) Vika rematch. I just hope she gives a good account of herself and doesn't waste opportunities.

Mar 27th, 2012, 09:31 PM
Match vs Vika on CC night session 7 pm.

Alizé Molik
Mar 27th, 2012, 11:05 PM
I'd like YECrenka to show up and not give a shit about this match.

Mar 29th, 2012, 12:54 AM
6-3, 6-3!:bounce:

Mar 29th, 2012, 12:55 AM
radwanska up next

if she's had a harder time with anyone then she has ahd with vika its been aga. However after seeing the way she played tonight i have belief that she can get that first win over aga

Mar 29th, 2012, 12:59 AM

250 + 450 = 700, pretty much defended her points in the american swing!

Mar 29th, 2012, 01:09 AM
doesnt she move up to number 7 in the rankings with this win?

Alizé Molik
Mar 29th, 2012, 02:29 AM
Yes she does.

I think my wish was granted but for a different reason this time. I'm so proud of Marion winning this match in straight sets!! Aga up next which will be another challenge but I think she is ready.

Mar 29th, 2012, 07:10 AM
Marion was so good yesterday, I am really glad I stayed up to watch this. :)
Aga will clearly be another challenge and contrary to her H2H with Vika, she has never come close to beat her.
I am actually gutted the match is already today, I thought she would have more rest!

I hope Marion proves she is not only an upset-maker but also a winner. Go Baba!

Mar 29th, 2012, 07:40 AM
she is NB 9 local time, so she will have plenty of time to rest :)

Lucky she got a nice and eas match with kiri, I think she can physically pull through for tommorow's match. Aga will make her hit more shots, but not run as far side to side as she did today.

Mar 29th, 2012, 07:53 AM
When i read Sam Sumyk's interview yesterday, i became still more confident. Because between the lines, i felt some doubts. And i loved this sentence :"....anyone can have an opinion about the bartolis, people who criticize them are a.. holes". In french, "des cons".

Mar 29th, 2012, 09:42 AM
Maaaaaaaaaarion :sobbing: SO happy, such a big win, her first big win this year and even better it was taking the scalp that everybody wanted to take!!

Sumyk :spit: I like him

Mar 29th, 2012, 02:46 PM
Vs Aga, i know that Marion was many times 1 break up before to lose. I remember Beijing semi or IW R4 for example. That's why i guess she can do something despite the fact that Aga plays well.

Mar 29th, 2012, 03:25 PM
Her W/L is up to 17/6 :)
1 step closer to YE top 5, my aim for her this year :D

Mar 29th, 2012, 07:52 PM
THRILLED with this win!

Going to watch the highlights later.

Mar 30th, 2012, 02:10 PM
Sigh!! Oh well the win in the QF was worth it but pretty clear this match was winneable. Didnt hold once despite being up a break 3 times in set 1.

Onto clay :scared:
