TC #4 -IW -- Congrats Dynamo Morpork and Tennisdude08 !!!

The singles competition:

Each committed players send picks to the game manager for all matches included in the daily OOP. The players pick the winners and the set ratio of all matches. Picking the correct winner gives 2 points, picking the correct winner with correct set ratio gives 3 points. The player who collects the most point at the end of the tournament is the winner.


The team competition:

Each team starts with 5 members. There are two discard days (2nd and 4th day). At the end of the tournament 3 players per team are remaining. The weekly results of those 3 players (and only those) add up. The team which collects the most picks points wins the competition. In case of tie number of correct picks decides. Picking the correct winner gives 2 points, picking the correct winner with correct set ratio gives 3 points.

Discards:
At the end of the discard days team captains nominate a player (PM or in the thread). If captain does not nominate any then the worst picker of the day will be left out. (A team is disqualified if there is more than one person discarded with 0 correct pick)

Play starts on Tuesday:

1. day: All 5 members of the team send.
2. day: All 5 members of the team send.
3. day: All 5 members of the team send. Discard
4. day: 4 send.
5. day: 4 send.
6. day: 4 send. Discard
7. day: 3 sends
8. day: 3 sends
9. day 3 sends


(There is a twist in team competition)
Player A has the following picks : 5 correct pick Monday, 5 correct pick Tuesday, 2 correct pick Wednesday
Player B has the following picks : 3 correct pick Monday, 3 correct pick Tuesday, 3 correct pick Wednesday
Automatic discarding eliminates Player A, but probably player B should be eliminated as he has only 9 cummulated picks compared to 12. )

I do not know, depends on the number of commitment. We start Wednesday with the main draw matches. You asked for 5 member/team so that is default (but if eg. we will have 18 players I will modify it to 6/team). One modification: On discard days I list the worst per team as a default for discard, captains should only say if they want somebody different. (On the previous 3 tourneys captains had easy tasks I hope some tougher decisions for this week.) I hope for a 4th team, but I dont do more marketing (I have done a lot without major result).

I have something to clarify Lazslo, If a player gets say 100 points for 40 picks and another player gets 100 points for 38 picks,how will you sort this?

Do you take it like the one who had most number of successful picks as first or do you consider the one who got more points with lesser number of picks.

Kiriyama: Good pick could only help in the individual race, but if it is the same good pick as the others have then you remains behind. Crazy tipping might help in team, but could destroy individual.
