Sasha :sobbing: Awful. LAV served for it at *54, she broke and was broken again from 30-0. And had 2 BPs to break after saving 5 MPs at *65 too.

I was wondering how many match points she needed.
Last game must have been crazy.

Arruabarrena-Vecino with a title of this importance :spit: She already struggles into challengers, I cannot believe this could happen
On the other side she's very young, so time will tell us... but I don't think she will have a great career, anyway.

Panova  She deserved it more and, to be honest, I thought she would have won this, considering she's simply better than the Spanish girl.
Better luck next time, even if it rarely happens to have such a winnable opponent into a final of a WTA tournament

What an ignorant :weirdo:

She has won like 10 ITFs in the past 2 years. I think that's pretty impressive.

Amazing win for Lara. She is definitely a claycourter to watch for and I hope she can back it up in the future. We have enough of those 25k ... R1: ... def. 'Insert name of fallen cometh/ one hit wonder' threads on GM. ;)

However, I can't resist to mention that she trailed 1-5 in the 3rd set against Mayr-Achleitner in R1. :oh:

Umm yeah--that's why she got to the quarters of Marbella last April as a qualifier, defeating Monica Niculescu along the way, before falling to Svetlana.

She then got to the quarters of the 100K Cagnes-Su-Mer as qualifier, before falling in three to Sorana.

Being in these type of tournaments is not something she just discovered. :)

There's quite a difference between reaching QFs as a qualifier and actually winning a WTA Title.

Thank goodness Spain has a young female player that looks to be promising. Spanish women's tennis has been held up by their aging veterans like MJMS, AMG, LDL, and NLV for too long plus CSN hasn't been able to maintain good form.

This is not Laraīs last WTA title I would say, itīs just a bit unexpected now, but it was said already last year that itīs just a matter of time when she will make a breakthrough...some slumps and strugglings thatīs a normal part of everyoneīs career and honestly nowadays itīs probably better to start with small steps, because when you make big things out of nowhere it often ends with an endless slump.
