I was just surprised because I didn't think that you'd have to look that far back to find a 15 year old winning a challenger. I would've thought that Azarenka, Wozniacki, Radwanska etc. would've won challengers when they were 15. But they didn't, so my bad. :shrug: I guess that says a lot about Barty's potential. :)

I think the last Aussie 15yo to reach a final was Dokic in Saga in 1998 (though she didn't win). Dokic also had to get there via quallies.

I asked same question before, someone said Nicole Vaidisova in 2004.

Tamira Paszek won aged 14 - as a qualifier - at Sofia 25k in 2005. And won a WTA MM the next year too.
