MakarovaFan Feb 19th, 2012, 11:46 AM ^That was in 2004 :p Uh well you did ask when was the last time someone this young won a challenger soooo  BlueTrees Feb 19th, 2012, 12:12 PM Uh well you did ask when was the last time someone this young won a challenger soooo  I was just surprised because I didn't think that you'd have to look that far back to find a 15 year old winning a challenger. I would've thought that Azarenka, Wozniacki, Radwanska etc. would've won challengers when they were 15. But they didn't, so my bad. I guess that says a lot about Barty's potential. :) GeeTee Feb 19th, 2012, 12:15 PM I think the last Aussie 15yo to reach a final was Dokic in Saga in 1998 (though she didn't win). Dokic also had to get there via quallies. binky-GOAT Feb 19th, 2012, 12:15 PM I asked same question before, someone said Nicole Vaidisova in 2004. GeeTee Feb 19th, 2012, 12:38 PM Tamira Paszek won aged 14 - as a qualifier - at Sofia 25k in 2005. And won a WTA MM the next year too. Vincey! Feb 19th, 2012, 12:45 PM Ash Barty Good tournment! :) Светльо Feb 19th, 2012, 12:55 PM Good for her :yeah: Her ranking will improve with this title. tennismaster8820 Feb 19th, 2012, 01:10 PM I was just surprised because I didn't think that you'd have to look that far back to find a 15 year old winning a challenger. I was just trying to show you how unfortunate it is to associate early success with someone's full true potential. :wavey: Jorn Feb 19th, 2012, 01:29 PM Congrats Ash! :) bbjpa Feb 19th, 2012, 02:30 PM Don't forget that Aussie's challenger look more national or regional than international events. Aussie + japonese = 75% of the field  Dani12 Feb 19th, 2012, 02:36 PM Don't forget that Aussie's challenger look more national or regional than international events.
