Thank you Vika :hearts:

2nd set should have been easier, she had chances in all service games.

Good tournament for Wickmayer ending on a high note with a good competitive 2nd set after being run over in the 1st set.

Caught last game. Yanina was atrocious from the 4 points I saw :help:

BTW,nice handshake. You could see that Yanina respects Azarenka so much

So NID, it was unbelievable. Anyway, as much as I hate vika, she can get rid of scrubs so easily. Well done Vika.

Way too many errors by Yanina. She looked like she didn't believe for one second she could win while Vika was actually pretty bad in the second.

Bummed I only saw the last two games, as it seems Vika played a high quality first set.

WTF @ the interviewer. :hysteric: Is he trying to hit on Vika? Second time in a row he's kissing her ass throughout the on-court interview.

...and they can both pull it off. :drool:It is much more convenient in every possible way. Nike, Adidas and every other sponsor wouldn´t be pleased, if they all started wearing them.

Although some of the predictable hype about Azarenka on course to dominate the game is ridiculous (Sam Smith as I type: "I think the Golden Slam is possible" ), one thing I will say is you can tell the magic of what confidence can do for you in this game - she's making virtually NO brainless errors at this point. The depth she's getting on her forehand has improved out of sight compared to times gone by too. Also, although I don't think she's improved her "power" as such (in terms of pace or weight of shot), I do think she's taking the ball a little earlier than she used to and robbing her opponent of time. Definitely a level good enough to beat everyone but a handful of players when they're at their very best.

Classymayer? :speakles:

I'm sure Vika will be winner at Doha this year. Most of the time she plays so great...I don't se her to lose on the hard courts in this few months before clay...

Good first set from Vika, second was a bit messier but the outcome was clear from very early on.

Keep it up :yeah:

The weird thing about this match was the smiling face of Yanina. She NEVER smiles like this during a match, I think she was dead after Paris and Knew that there is no way she is gonna win. her attitude was different today.

 Very good match from Victoria as far as the first set for me -- second set was a little bit crappier but well who cares. :worship:

Victoria's serve has clearly become a big weapon in her game -- now she's almost able to hit mid-aces familiarly called service winners at will generally down the T. Cranks up the speed and there you go... she's improving lightning speed over the last few months. Awesome.

Pretty much confirms Wickmayer played a much better 2nd set with 13 winners and 14 UEs. Almost half of those errors must have come after the first point of the 9th game. Azarenka ran her ragged in that rally.

Well, I paraphrased a little bit :oh: But the presenter asked "Do you think the Golden Slam is possible?" and Sam Smith replied "I think EVERYTHING's possible with the way Azarenka's playing"

Well, to the victor goes the spoils. So let them hype up Azarenka. That's okay. She deserves it (though I haven't been so impressed with her level of tennis during this streak). She's just playing very consistent, and taking advantage when she can.

Now if/when she gets smoked by the next opponent that has more offensive weapons and power than her, then they will be reminded the limits of her metronomic type game.

But she's winning at the moment. So Kudos to her!!

Go Vika!

Nah she smiled before. Maybe she read my post after Hobart final that she shouldn´t be so f***in miserable. Just to be happy to be healthy again and the rest will take care of itself. Cause ever since she seems much more relaxed on court.

Yanina

Some big if... If she can reduce her UEs in the first set... If she can win the game in 4-4 second set...
But VIka definitely improved a lot...
