Cake has the eye of the tiger lately, and fights no end. I didn't see any of Safarova's matches lately, but she certainly appears to be in great form and snatching wigs right and left.

I'm picking Marion. She hits hard, and I suspect her two-fistedness makes her less susceptible to problems handling lefthanders. (But I don't have data on that.)

This match depends on Marion's fitness (she looked tired yesterday) and Lucie's mentality (already played 2 very close matches), I think it will be a close match.

I vote Marion, for the simple reason that Lucie will equal her best ever ranking of 22 if she wins this match, and she ALWAYS loses when she is in danger of that or finally breaching the top 20.

Let's hope I'm wrong though.

Maybe, but another factor is that Lucie was kicked out of the Fed Cup team and boy has it paid off in terms of motivating her to improve.

I'm hoping against hope it's Cake, but I feel she'll be exhausted. :(
