Aah, is this the poll that left Abba out?

niratti
Nov 17th, 2002, 11:06 AM
It's not a poll!!! It's ranked by number of sell.

Abba might a single or two in top 100 but none of them in top 40.

BritneySpearsIsHot
Nov 17th, 2002, 11:11 AM
I still think Gareth Gates in top 40 is hilarious

niratti

yeah, it finished at midnight.

I think Gareth doesn't deserve it at all. Hate Simon Cow(ard)

It was in one of those pull-out Tv Guides you get in the papers at the weekend.

(blah,blah,blah)

Here's the bit regarding Abba: "THE results promise to be surprising, not only in terms of who has made it in the chart but, more surprisingly who hasn't. Among the many shocks, Swedish quartet ABBA fail to make an appearance."

That's just NOT on

Who won?

I bet it is Candle in the Wind.

niratti
Nov 17th, 2002, 12:04 PM
I think their point is that ABBA's songs always been very hit but the number of sales was not as high as people think. i.e. Michale's Thriller didn't make it to the top 40 either!!!!!

I must say lots of the top 100 are children songs and many of 100th - 41th are rubbish songs IMO.

Candle in the wind was released twice and first to Marilyn Monroe and then to Lady Diana. We'll know that it didn't sold so much cause of it qualities right?

I think Bee Gees version is better.

Interesting numbers. I would never have expected those "Popstars" to rate anywhere near the Top 100 of all-time, let alone the Top 40. Not to diss the quality of their songs, but that it was so unexpected. I wonder what the US and Aussie all-time lists would look like compared to the UK version. The US list would be distorted though since sales doesn't contribute much to chart success.

To be hornest the Uk top 100 is full of those 70s songs that I call rubbish, one single the singer didn't even sang by himself!!!!! How ridiculous!!!
