Definitely Safina.

I didnt like either Golovin´s or Vaidisova´s game. Golovin´s puffballs were like a 10% version of Azarenka and Vaidisova was just too....big.. like a bad Davenport.

Tati for sure. She was just starting to grow on me towards the end of 2007 and during Hopman Cup in 08, and then... yeah.

Tati. I loved watching her play and I think she was a real asset to the Tour.

I never really took to Vaidisova, a bit of a flash in the pan whereas I think Tati had more potential.

Sorry, but Safina never did it for me - boring and moody. But then Marat never did either and he had plenty of fans.

I know Nicole decided to retire because she was a dumb teenager playing a housewife.

Safina had a lower back injury.

Why did Golovin decide to retire?

I know she was injured for a while, and then she was working for some TV station...and then she was gone.

Out of these three, probably Golovin the most, but it's close with Safina. Both of them had quite a lot of potential and worked very hard to be the best that they could be. While I cheered against her when she was no.1, looking back, Dinara did give it her all and fought to the end in every single match. And I distinctly remember cheering for Tati during the fall of 2007 and being very impressed by her competent performances.

Nicole, on the other hand, is not only overrated, but the worst thing was that she didn't try her best with what she had. If she had stuck to her guns she could have done pretty damn well in this era, but no, she just didn't care for her career, let it go down the drain, and became a housewife/WAG.

Davenport.

This. Always, always this.

Of the girls listed, Nicole and Tati were the first youngsters I took to, I miss them equally. Nicole had grand slam potential and Tati was going to be one of those players who had a slow rise into the top echelon, lots of ups and downs, but would always be a dangerous player, and a very entertaining player. I never took to Dina but her fall from grace was worthy of a Shakespearean tragedy which was just heartbreaking to watch.
