This is like a hottest woman in the world thread without pictures. Maybe giving her age would be vital information to the thread.

I wouldn't get too excited--kids that have been immersed in tennis from a young age and train at academies a gazillion hours a week are going to be good--have to see what happens to her in the next 4 years or so, and even then, you never know....

good for her for winning a match, but beating a 19yo ranked in 300's and not exactly a top talent herself - is it really a reason for this overjoy?

This would be more exciting if I knew who her opponent was.

Maria Sharapova already won an ITF tournament before she turned 15 years old.

The era of the teen phenom that sets the world on fire has gone. I have never seen Bencic play and really dont know that much about her but if she is going to be doing anything significant then it wont be for a looooong while yet.

There was even a TV show on a teen phenom in the 90s. How times have changed!

You don't know who Marcinkevia is....Shame on you

I'm glad there is another ić girl winning, even for SUI :)

Bencic is coached by Melanie Monitor by the way and has been the Swiss number one junior since the age of 11!!! :worship:
She also won the U14 Masters last year and a G1 junior event this year already...

At 15, Nicole Vaidisova became a WTA champion.

That's amazing, Martina Hingis usually coaches her, right?

She had already have ranking after last year's Lux and have already been in 10.000$ (actually it was her first pro tourney). Where have you been all this time? :)
And I wouldn't overreact if I were you. Belinda is promising and surely is on the rise but she have a long way to go. And her current results are good for 14-old girl but nothing spectacular yet TBH.

How about you check the player forum. I'm into everything about her!!! We already arrived on P.15 there since last autumn.
And yes, she did play two 25Ks in Switzerland last year, I was there to cheer for her. I know Belinda personally BTW. And I did make threads for her wins at that 10K as well. Just that those wins weren't over players as good as Marcinkevica.

I actually think that Belinda goes to Martina's mum's academy in Switzerland and Martina coaches her from time to time.

Kind of an overreaction isn't it? Tell us when she beats players in challengers.
