Great job?
Average at best. Once the top seed don't reach the final it is not that great that #2 seed only win 2 of the 10 tournaments being played. And one of them saving match points in the semis :p

BTW, Dani was not the #2 seed in Pattaya. That was Cibulkova who lost in first round :oh:

Hardly unusual results. Especially at ITF level. ITF seeding is very different from the seeding at a big WTA event. At a big WTA event the top seeds are players who have had a lot more success over the previous 12 months than those who are not seeded.

That simply isn't really the case in the vast majority of ITF events. In most of these events the difference in the level of the top 10 or so players entered is fairly negligible and it would be very odd if the top seed regularly one such events. As it happened 8 out of the 10 top seeds got as far as the quarters and to be honest that is about all I would expect of a top seed in an ITF event.

Surely you know all this yourself, Spiceboy. You don't really expect that a player ranked 138 is always going to be expected to beat a player ranked 157, do you? Because that is what it usually comes down to at ITF level.
