they've swapped, and doha is a $2m now. dubai still has a sat final but doha a sunday one.
so what does it mean for doha schedule? they still have to get all 1r's done by end of tues i think? so why so few matches tomorrow?

Dubai is a 28 players Draw, in Dubai sunday is a work day so F. on sat.
Doha a 56 players Draw so they need sunday for the F.

dubai was a 56 last year and had a sat final. they must'vestarted 1r on sun.
i thought all the big tournaments would be at least a 48 draw. veery odd to have a $2m with a 28 draw.

Dubai and Doha are rotating the Premier 5 status.
Last year Dubai was P5 and Doha premier, this year Doha is P5 and Dubai is premier.
Dubai simply offers $$$ to lure as many top players as possible.

ok. but why swap dates too? i'm sure there's good reason, but not immediately obvious to me.

The venues are practically interchangeable. They are keeping the P5 first and the P second, they just change the location of it. That's just how the flow of tournaments are.
