Remember, every choice, whether good or bad, can be deadly...

Suicide Bogota 2012

2011 Final: Nadjagina (MEX) def. Hian (ITA)
2010 Final: Nadjagina (MEX) def. James (NED)
2009 Final: Hurley (USA) def. Michael 21 (AUS)
2008 Final: No champion (mass suicide on Day 01)
2007 Final: Nadjagina (MEX) def. aussie_fan311 (AUS)
2006 Final: amirhendel (ISR) def. nitsansh (ISR)

1. Each day of play, you must pick 1 winner playing a WTA main draw singles match. (READ: DO NOT PICK A MATCH FROM THE QUALIFYING DRAW!). Of course, the player that you choose, is playing one match scheduled to be played that day (as seen on the order of play).

2. Once you pick someone, you cannot choose them again for the rest of the tournament. So, you don't want to waste a pick on Sabine Lisicki or Shuai Peng in the early rounds. Conversely, you don't want to make a pick at all on Svetlana Kuznetsova. Has-beens are not hot.

3. You must choose one player to win each day. If you forget, are sick, or are unable to reach a computer, it will be treated as a wrong pick, and you will be out of the tournament. As well, your pick must be chosen before the pick's match has commenced, otherwise it will be considered a wrong pick, and thus you will again, be out of the tournament.

4. In the case of a walkover, or a withdrawal, each player is allowed to have a back-up pick, selected at the same time as their initial pick. That back-up pick will only be used in the occurence of a walkover or withdrawal, as stated above. Retirements do count as completed matches.

Replacement picks must be identitified like this:

BACK-UP PICK - LOURDES DOMINGUEZ LINO

If it is not clearly identitified, then both picks will be declared invalid.

5. There are no BYE's for International Events.

6. Your sign up will be confirmed when you post your picks on the first day of main draw play, and so please do not post “In” or any other variation to sign in.

7. Please be advised that you may only play ONE Suicide Tennis tournament per week. If you play in multiple tournaments per week, you will be given a score of ZERO for the week to go into your ranking.

8. Once you've post your pick it's final, you CAN'T change them.
So don't edit or delete your post or else you will be DISQUALIFIED!

I think there should be determing the winner, but I will ask in Suicide thread ;)

Kəv.
Feb 16th, 2012, 08:56 AM
d) In the event that they are still tied, the player who posted their pciks earlier on the final day (the final day that they were both still posting choices) will be declared the winner.

:oh: I think I won a title, but got less points

James
Feb 16th, 2012, 10:45 AM
But why only d? Are the other steps to determine the winner not being used? Not that it matters terribly, since we all get the same ranking points anyway.

Mynarco
Feb 16th, 2012, 11:07 AM
I think Kev won because he posted earlier

HawkAussie

Hey on for one minute because if it was on BU picks and their games lost this will be the result

Kev. 33 games
Andreas 32 games (Winner)

Kəv.
Feb 17th, 2012, 08:59 AM
BU picks are only used if your main pick withdraws

Kev. = 7+1+17=25
Andreas = 7+1+17=25
James = 7+1+12=20

If it was to count the games lost then James would be the winner

Whoever lost the fewest games is the winner.

Feb 17th, 2012, 08:39 PM

2010 Bad Gastein but it was on Day 6 and we all picked the same player so it seems more fair. I'm not sure why James should be rewarded for picking a player who had a worse loss or why Kev. should be rewarded for posting his pick first. What a mess. :sobbing:

delicatecutter
Feb 17th, 2012, 09:29 PM
I don't think there should be a winner tbh. Y'all lost on Day 3 and get like 30 points. :sobbing:

Or you could use games lost in winning matches. Which again, you're all tied on. I guess that's why Kev. wins cause he posted first? A mess.

This is from the Rules:

Benjiboy and jrm have both lost on Day 5 in Suicide Sydney. In order to determine who is the winner, and who is the finalist, all of the games lost by their picks are tallied up. This includes their pick who lost her match, thus eliminating them.

jrm's picks have lost a total of 36 games, in the rounds chosen by her.
Benjiboy's picks have lost a total of 22 games, in the rounds chosen by him.

Because Benjiboy's picks have lost fewer games, he is declared winner of Suicide Australia.

But like I said before, I don't think there should be a winner based on the strange circumstances.

This tournament is so messy :o

We should take MTF rule - winner is only a player(s) who survived whole week.

Determining the winner
(by games)

(075) Kev. [AUS]...........(Rampre [0;7], Babos [0;1], Dominguez Lino [0;17]) = 0;25 FINALIST
(092) Andreas [DEN]........(Rampre [0;7], Babos [0;1], Dominguez Lino [0;17]) = 0;25 FINALIST
(196) James [NLD]..........(Rampre [0;7], Babos [0;1], Birnerova [0;12]) = 0;20 WINNER

(by time of posting Day 3 pick [at CET])

(075) Kev. [AUS]...........05:08am WINNER
(092) Andreas [DEN]........06:51am SEMI-FINALIST
(196) James [NLD]..........06:06am FINALIST

Then I would only have 2 titles and on MTF there is no tie-breaker right? So multiple people can win titles even though that can't happen in tennis.

:sobbing: Maybe we should just give all the 3 winners the title :oh:

Kəv.

If only James picked Dominguez Lino D3 then I would have already won because I posted earlier and everybody would have the same picks :sobbing:

James
Feb 18th, 2012, 06:30 AM
Don't really see why a player posting first should be given a win. That just favours a player who happens to be in the correct timezone to be able to send first. I was originally going to pick Shvedova for day 3, but decided to hang on to her a little longer. :p

But I am fine if we all win or one of the other two guys win. Does not change the 30 points. And I guess this one does not really feel like a win. I won Pattaya last week with 7 correct picks, that clearly felt like a win.

But if you go by the rules, James is the winner.

By the rules, James wins. But this was a very strange circumstance. I don't think there should be a winner of this tournament but obviously I was vetoed.

I went 7 days perfect in Doha. Now that feels like a win.

It does not feel like a win to me either. My win in Pattaya last week was a real win with 7 perfect picks, like I said before.
