Hey! Good job :)

Just looing further down the ranks...the ITF website has missed out NOR for some reason. The Norwegian federation claims we're in Group II, which seems absurd.

Last year Norway played in Group III and didn't reach the promotional play-off, so if they play in 2012 I guess it will be in GIII only.

But yes when you check here they appear in Group II : http://www.fedcup.com/en/teams/europe-africa.aspx but this seems to be the teams for 2010.

In 2010 Norway was in GII and has been relegated with South Africa.

So the teams for GIII 2012 : http://www.fedcup.com/en/results/group-iii/europe-africa/2012.aspx

But it has Latvia in GII too, and Latvia were in Group I in 2010...so that could well be the 2012 teams. Unfair as hell on Egypt and Tunisia, though.

Here's my source btw in Norwegian. http://www.tennis.no/turneringer/turneringer/fed-cup

7 teams in zone II and would be 13 in zone III (with Norway). Pretty logical to promote someone. And Norway is ranked highest.

ITF has done so many times in the past.

Bulgaria was relegated from zone I in 2009, but was allowed back in by the ITF. Same year, Norway and Finland did not win promotion into zone II, but were later promoted by the ITF.

Sweden should play on clay..

Spain has a rude match, but i think that Hantu or Cibul will withdraw for the series.
Anyway, Carla and Anabel can win the matches on clay

Sweden should play on clay..

If they choose clay, it is GAME OVER for GB. Bally cannot play on clay for toffee. Keothavong not so bad and Watson seems to prefer clay, but Bally is our biggest weapon overall.

Who ever is in charge of choosing venues and surfaces for Germany and Switzerland need to be fired. Germany chooses Indoor Hardcourts with Kvitova playing and then Indoor Red Clay with Stosur playing. Switzerland chooses Indoor Red Clay with Stosur where that Swiss court coincidentally LOVED Stosur's kick and top spin. Now Indoor Hardcourts against Belarus.

These people need to make smarter choices.:o

I think Germany is playing on clay because it is the weekend before Stuttgart and they always play at the Porsche Arena where they Stuttgart event is held because the German Fed Cup team is sponsored by Porsche IIRC ;). And it would be impossible to change the court surface overnight

Maybe Switzerkand chose hard thinking Vika might not want to ruin her RG chances and she wouldn't bother
