Kaye was a promising Aussie who gave up the game around 1965 to pursue a degree in Economics and later a business career.

I found this profile on her whilst searching about the net.

The University of Sydney has a scholarship named after her:

Kaye Dening Scholarship (2007)
As a junior, Kaye Dening, AM was a prodigiously talented young tennis player, who won the Junior Titles at the Australian, French, US and Italian Open Championships and reached the final of Junior Wimbledon. She was ranked Number 1 Junior in the world. Kaye is an Economics graduate, who received her Blue for Lawn Tennis in 1964. This scholarship has been awarded annually since 2007 to an undergraduate tennis player studying at Sydney University.

Quite a nice turn when you think about it. For many women who went to college during the amateur era it meant giving up tennis or making difficult choices-witness Billie Jean King's turmoil over college, marriage and tennis.

Happily times have changed.:)
