Will be played 14th and 15th December featuring Arantxa Sanchez Vicario, Elena Dementieva, Justine Henin and (according to the website, but it will depend on how her knee is progressing I guess), AmÚlie Mauresmo.

i hope my mum will take me cos we didn't get to go to wimby this year. i want to see juju as well as see asv for the last time.

where is ciney in belgium? can we get there by eurostar from london?

CÚcile
Nov 26th, 2002, 07:32 AM
You have to take the eurostar to Brussels and then take another train to Ciney. It will take about 1h30min from Brussels to Ciney. I do not know exactly whether it is close to the station or not!

marsha
Nov 28th, 2002, 08:13 PM
I hate to be so "American" (read: "Europeanly challenged") but what is the Eurostar? (I'm assuming a train--??) An about how much would the fare be from London to Brussels? (I'm coming. really I am!!)

Caz
Nov 29th, 2002, 04:13 PM
lol! The Eurostar is the highspeed train that goes from London to Paris or Brussels. I don't know what the fare is to Brussels, but it's around ú80 return from London, Waterloo to Paris, (though maybe more 'cos I think that might be a student fare).

Josh
Nov 29th, 2002, 05:38 PM
Well prices vary depending on what day and time you leave and when you return.

You can consult this page for more information : http://www.eurostar.com/dctm/jsp/index.jsp

Josh
Nov 29th, 2002, 05:41 PM
A one way ticket from Brussels to Ciney is about Ç9 and the good thing is that you have a direct connection from Brussels-South (Midi), where the Eurostar from London arrives, and Ciney.

Josh
Nov 29th, 2002, 05:43 PM
This is the website from the Belgian railways if you wanna calculate the exact price and check timetables and stuff : http://www.b-rail.be/

Thanks Josh and Caz -- you are both just fountains of information! :)

Caz
Nov 29th, 2002, 11:19 PM
;-) Well, not realy,it's just that a. London, Waterloo is "my" London station, (ie. the London station that my town is on a direct line to), so I see the Eurostar terminal *all* the time and b. I use the trains every year when I go to Roland Garros!

BTW, your cheapest option of getting from London to Belgium will most probably be the coach. Eurolines coaches depart regularly from London, Victoria to various European destinations, (I have the tel. no. if you want to know more). I don't know if you could get a coach directly to Ciney, but you could almost certainly get one to Brussels for less money than the train.

The train is the faster and more comfortable option, but on the other hand the coach, as well as being the cheapest option, would probably aso give you the option of overnight travel saving hotel costs.

I think after 3 years of going to European tournies, I'm fast becoming the expert in cheap European travel!! ;-) lol!

BTW, I have some pictures from the exo that I will be posting shortly (if I can remember how, again!) -- I will probably post them under a separate thread though.

Can anyone refreash my memory as to how to post pictures?

Josh
Dec 28th, 2002, 07:13 PM
If they are saved on your hard disc you can use the "attach" option to post them. The attach option only appears when you push the "post reply" button, it doesn't work in the quick reply box at the botom.
You can only attach one pic per post though.

If the pics are on a website on the net you can post them by using this code : [ img]url of the pic[ /img] (without the spaces). This allows you to post more than one pic per post.
