View Full Version : I found my mirror!

Hurley

So last night I went out to dinner with my friends, and on the way there my friend who was sitting in the front passenger seat says, "I never noticed that you didn't have a right-side mirror." So I look over and, sure enough, it was gone. So I'm like..."Crap!"

Flash back to January 2000, when I battled a bus in Harlem and ended up knocking that mirror loose (I personally think the battle was a draw since the bus is so much bigger). It hung on for a few months until one of my buddies started chasing me around our hometown and then I drove down a hill and the mirror came off. I had it repaired that summer and it never gave any impression it was coming off since. But, lo, no mirror.

So I do all my shit today and it's very annoying without a mirror, especially when changing lanes or merging right. So I get home, sit and think...and then on a whim I recall that we park under, like, a fucking rain forest, and it rained pretty hard yesterday, and there were like tons of branches and leaves on the car when I got up yesterday, and perhaps something fell on the mirror and knocked it off.

So I just went out to the parking lot and YES! There is the mirror! It looks like someone kicked it out of the way instead of driving over it, for it was in the woods, unharmed and noticeable. (I do have to say that I was about ready to give up when I saw it peripherally.) So I brought it inside and practically made out with it. :D

The moral of the story is...someone buy me a new car!

But it's great...it made my day! And as I was walking in I looked at myself in the mirror and I look quite sexy today. So now I'm pretty damn happy with life. :D :D :D

Hurley

However my car wants to live her life is fine with me. I stopped trying to impose my beliefs and biases upon her!

She may be bisexual though...I mean she went for that big long bus like nobody's business! But she got hurt in the process.

Who needs those weepy long lost twin reunion stories, when we have Hurley and his mirror ;)

Reminds me of my old bomb of a car that had a front passenger door that flung open on a whim.

Dahveed
Nov 14th, 2002, 12:52 PM

pff no one upstages Silvia!

She is a sporty gal, a small figure (only 2 doors) but she more than makes up for it with oomph. We have discussed implants...

and she has youth on her side

Hurley
Nov 14th, 2002, 08:32 PM
First of all, my car is a girl. I mean, she's purple. Doesn't take much to figure that out.

But I put stickers on her, and an antenna ball (stolen), and Mardi Gras beads hanging from the rear view mirror, and, let's face it, she's falling apart. So, you know...she's pretty butch. She doesn't hide it.

Here is a picture of my car, c. my 21st birthday when we went to Chicago! :D

The Crow
Nov 14th, 2002, 08:37 PM
Pfffft don't you have a pic where you can actually see the car :p

Hurley
Nov 14th, 2002, 08:43 PM

Josh
Nov 14th, 2002, 08:43 PM

Hurley
Nov 14th, 2002, 09:47 PM
Yes, but she was named after the gymnast Khorkina.

Yes, well, we determined she was Eastern European, but she was also sleek and supple. What better name than Svetlana?

Actually, she was named before the Olympics. I don't regularly follow gymnastics (unless I'm literally following hot gymnasts) so I guess we just pulled it out of the blue. Yay my friends and I!

Too bad she had to go, like, five years without a name. But that was my mother's fault. Actually...my mother could have had a name for her, like Brock or Tyrone or something. You never know, but I'm not going to ask her.
