Watch Player of the Year
Petra Kvitova

Many doubted her ability to become a top player, thinking the 2010 Wimbledon semifinal run was a fluke. Well, she proved the naysayers wrong, winning Wimbledon, the year-end Championships, reaching #2 in the world, and helping the Czechs win Fed Cup.

After the disappointment of Nicole Vaidisova, she became the Czech to root for.

Here's a look back at Petra's year:

January
Started the year by winning Brisbane, her second career title.

Australian Open
Reached the quarterfinals, her best effort.

February
Won Paris, her third career title.

April
Won Madrid, her fourth career title.

May
Reached the final of Prague 2.

French Open
Reached the 4th Rd, matching her best effort.

June
Reached the final of Eastbourne.

Wimbledon
Won her first career Slam.

September
Reached the semis of Tokyo.

October
Won Linz, her sixth career title.

WTA Championships
Won, her seventh career title.

Fed Cup Final
Won both her singles, helping the CR to the title.

Just an outstanding year. I'm having a hard time thinking of any Watch player who could surpass it.

What a difference a year makes. Petra in the lead by a lot. Could Andrea have a better year? What about Nastya?
