RT @CariSquared: @akleybanova finished her chemo/radiation therapy & hopes to head to Fla in Feb. to start practice & begin her comeback!

RT @CariSquared: If all goes well her coach think she could play warm ups to FO and FO. But they both know its long road ahead with many IF's involved.

I'll believe it when I see it, but I wish her the best

I think she'll be hard pressed being competitive by the clay season. Unless she's going to play some ITF's first?

All the best, it's a goal I guess.

Come back as long as you're healthy Alisa x

I guess, Sam Stosur also played ITF's when she came back in 2008.

Very good news. Alisa and Makarova reached the semis of the USO and played a close match with Serena & Venus.
I can see her still having a long career, with a lot of doubles plus her singles.
Lets hope everything goes well in 2012

Awesome. I'd like nothing more than to see her back in the top 20 where she belongs. A successful Kleybanova comeback would be a great story.

Glad to hear she's recovering well :). Hope she comes back better than before :D She's got a great game and I love watching her play. If she returns better than she was before, she could go really deep in some slams.

So is the cancer gone? This is great news but lets see how this plays out. Anyone know what she looks like currently? I would imagine she lost quite a bit of weight, which would actually be great for her career. Positive side to everything.

This is great news to end the year. Not spefically her trying to be back for the clay season or playing tennis at all, but the fact that she finished treatment, being healthy at the moment and thinking of the future again. Stay healthy, Alisa, good luck on your further recovery and hopefully see you back on court next year.

Great news, I too think it's probably too early for the clay season, but you never know... some people's bodies (and she's the perfect age to resist something that damaging) do handle the treatment better than others and being young and fit is usually a BIG help to how your system will cope.

Fingers crossed for her regardless, she deserves some good fortune in her life after all she has been through.

This is nice. She probably could be top 10 without the cancer given the girls that are in there now.

That was rather fast for a cancer treatment.

It really depends on the stage of the disease. I know someone who was diagnosed with the exact same form of lymphoma last year (she's 21 - close to Alisa's age actually), and her chemo treatments took 5 months and she was in remission. They probably caught it very early and since she's young and in good condition otherwise that helped as well.

Alisa  I get really happy every time I read this. :)

I really hope Alisa returns soon, though of course I want her to be ready, both physically and mentally before she does so. I never cared for her that much as a player, but it's a fantastic feel-good story waiting to happen. I send her so much love. :)

I can't believe how much I miss her! She was one of the few players who didn't just net a shot when she was on the stretch. She's got my full support when she comes back on tour. We miss you Alisa!
