I didn't get the memo that Mexican Open has joined China Open as the 6th Slam :bigwave:

now that Serena is not a top 10 player, she can play as many MM as she wants in 2012 :tape:

and to start she will come to Mexico to play Monterrey :oh:

1st time she play a MM since losing to Bammer

we just need Serena to play Copahagen now

I'm kind of surprised  she would play Monterrey instead of Dubai, but as long as she's playing, I'm happy. I won't complain. Given how weak the rest of the field might be, if she shows up, I expect her to win. I hope she wins!

 We'll see if she shows up. Still coming for that elusive first MM title.

Too bad Torres-Sandoval is retired. She could have gotten a career-defining win here over Sarin.

If they pay her appearance promotional fee in American dollars and not Mexican pesos, she'll be there. ;)

She´ll play just like Colombia. You don´t sign up as a courier and withdraw then. Maybe they´ll do a bag check on the border. ;)

Tsarina is serious about getting that elusive second French Open title, she's starting her clay season early (Monterrey is played on clay right?) Sasha even dropped the hint on Twitter saying that it's his "favorite slam" :oh:

If I was to put money on Serena playing a 'MM' before Miami, I would have said it would be Memphis.

Well she has hardly played for nearly two years she wants to win grand slams and olympics so she need match practice so I think its a good idea.

So the same reason Wozniacki whores it up at MM events?

Actually no. Caro plays her 2 MMs per season (Kopenhagen and Bastaad) because one of them is her home tournament and the other one is one of her favorite tournaments. ;)

I only said that she plays 2 MMs per season. That's better than not taking your job serious and barely play any tournaments at all.

Why mess with a winning strategy? What has playing week in and out gotten Caro besides the #1 ranking and a whole lot of hatred? :p

How dare you. Do you have any evidence to support your outrageous claim?

Is this tournament played on red clay?
Is a Kardashian sister getting married that week?
Is Monterrey in Asia?
Do you know whether she has scheduled spring house cleaning for that weekend?

Exactly.

So there is still a 2.46% chance, she´ll show up.

I think she will play  She wouldn't've signed on in the first place if they weren't offering her a hefty appearance fee, so...

That said, she'll probably tank by the QFs at the latest

Hopefully Serena plays Doha at least.

She must want to be close to home. Monterrey is not far at all from Miami (especially when compared to Dubai).

It's nice to see a commitment from Serena - even if she might withdraw. It's an encouraging sign.
