Gail :bigcry:
good match by both girls. Keys mighty impressive on serve.
Brodsky overall too nervous, she played much less aggressive tennis than yesterday and showed too much frustration throughout the match.
So we'll have 16-yr old Madison Keys in the AO MD in 2012. :yeah: well done.

Madison has a better chance in the main draw, and Gail has a decent chance of picking up some good much needed points in qualifying. So it is all for the best.

Madison was highly impressive today. I really love watching her play, and with a smart schedule, she should definitely be top 100 next year.

Gail has improved tremendously since the last time I saw her play, but she has quite the fiery temper (especially compared to Madison's calm demeanor). I hope she can keep that in check.

Gail is looking alot fitter since I saw her play Asia Muhammad back in 2007 at Lawrenceville. But I think she could have been tired from her previous matches but credit to Madison. I saw Madison at the USO against Fanning when she lost that second set and am impressed with what I am seeing.

Good luck to both girls at the AO

Glad to see the 16 year old come through, a few young players doing well would help the tour. Gail's better off in qualies anyway ( other than financially of course ).

If they both keep developing, Madison Keys appears to be Kvitova's true competition in the future, before the next wave of youngsters come in.

Congrats Madison.

This. Congrats Mad! Nice run Gail :)

I'm really looking forward to the 2012 season. Team USA has so many players that seem to be ready to step up to WTA level :bounce:

Great win for Madison. She seems to lose focus in matches, though. She needs to work on that. There was no reason to give back any of the breaks she did. Gail is much better than when I last saw her. She hits quite deep.

The women's final was so much better than the men's final.

You can rewatch the match at Livestream (http://www.livestream.com/aowp). Obviously, that is more than highlights, but...

That's how I feel about everyone that lost... Alison's chances in the main draw are slim given her recent outdoor hard court form, so I'd rather her pick up hopefully at least 40 points. Mel has just been terrible, so she needs to be in quallies. Coco has been mediocre... better for her to be seeded in quallies and hopefully win there before reaching the MD. Grace and Taylor are young and will have other chances.

Gail is on the bubble right now though... I really hope she gets into quallies!
