Red clay indoors or Hard court?Jorn Nov 14th, 2011, 02:00 PM It was said after last year, this year will be on clay, but WTA site write its on HC? MarkNL Nov 15th, 2011, 04:18 AM I saw it as well. I wondered if this was a mistake or something. I don't know  Jorn Nov 17th, 2011, 07:23 PM Maybe Caro want HC and not clay... And too much work drive sooo much clay indoors? chingching Nov 19th, 2011, 11:44 AM I want it hard to stuff up caro's clay-court season chingching Nov 19th, 2011, 11:45 AM also, denmark is not a clay-court nation The Kaz Nov 20th, 2011, 08:30 AM I want it hard to stuff up caro's clay-court season How would it stuff up her clay court season IW Miami Charleston Copenhagen 1 week off Stuttgart 1 week off Madrid Rome Brussels French Open 1 week off Only Charleston will be before the Sunshine open and it nearly a HC anyway being on Green clay. P.S I really suspect this will be Caro's schedule... 9 tournaments between IW and RG :tape: Sombrerero loco Nov 20th, 2011, 11:21 AM caro should skip brussels MarkNL Nov 27th, 2011, 02:46 PM It indeed will be played on red clay indoors  Just like Stuttgart. Andreas Jan 2nd, 2012, 10:14 AM It will be on HC :o Apparently the clay solution is too expensive. Sombrerero loco Jan 2nd, 2012, 10:15 AM indoor in the middle of clay season  no comments Graf~Dokic Feb 24th, 2012, 08:36 PM indoor in the middle of clay season  no comments Well, Stuttgart is indoors in the middle of the clay season, too. It would be no problem if Copenhagen is on red clay as well. Jorn Feb 24th, 2012, 10:23 PM It has been expended 3 more years in Farum Arena for the WTA tournament but on indoor hard court. (Even they can change their mind one year...) Shvedbarilescu Apr 6th, 2012, 03:01 PM In fairness to the tournament it is not an indoor hard event in the middle of the claycourt season as has been suggested numerous times. It is an indoor hard event on the edges of the claycourt season. If it really was an indoor hard event in the middle of the clay court season that really would mess up player's schedules something awful and I suspect not many would attend. As it is this is certainly the best draw the Copenhagen Open has had in it's three years. Thing is, where it is on the calendar doesn't require players switch from clay to indoor hard and back again. This is only the 2nd week of the clay season so the only players who will be coming into this event having played on clay will be those crazies (Jankovic and maybe a couple of others) who also chose to play Charleston the week before. For the rest, this is simply a good opportunity to postpone the start of the clay season for a couple of weeks and get another indoor hard tournament under their belt. For fast court inclinded players this is perfect and it is no wonder that a lot of this draw is made up of players who much prefer fast surfaces to slow. Additionally with another week off after this event before the next tournament, Stuttgart which also happens to be indoors, albeit on clay, and the adjustment these players will have to make to clay later on will be quite doable.
