View Full Version : Cho first Korean finalist?

I keep reading that Yeong Cho was the first Korean player to make it to the final of a WTA tournament in Thailand this week.

I know that in 1982, former player Duk Hee Lee won a Avon Futures tournament in FLorida January of that year.

Where the Futures tournaments of those days considered Tier events or where they Challenger events?

IF they were the former, doesn't that make CHo the second Korean player to make it to a final?

Did not see a thread like this so was just wondering thanks.

What about Sung Hee Park (think that was her name!)

Didnt she reach a final in 95 or something of a low tier Asian event???

You are right Ausboy I forgot about Park too. So does anybody know? Did Cho become the first Korean finalist in a WTA final or was it Lee or Park?

I think you're right Ausboy. I believe Park Sung Hee was in a final (indoor?) in the middle 90's.
