I thought Let's just already open a thread on her upcoming ITF campaign for the end of the season. :)

So her schedule:

10 October Joue-Les-Tours, France 50k
17 October Limoges, France 50k
24 October Barnstaple, UK 75k
31 October Nantes, France 50k + H or Ismaning, Germany 50k + H

All tournaments are played Indoors.

So she will play Joue-Les-Tours next week and she will be the 5th Seed.

Good luck Misa

omg, against her doubles partner in Olomouc, Renata Voracova. (WTA: 149) Seeing her form of the past weeks she can beat her.
Good luck Misa! :D

Michaella Krajicek (NED) def. Renata Voracova (CZE) 1-2 ret.

Voracova retreated with a wrist injury. At least Misa is through :) Next round most probably vs. (BUL) Elitsa Kostova. (WTA: 155)

BTW, seems to be some confusion whether she was 2-1 up or 1-2 down, because it's not really clear from whose point of view she's writing. Not that it matters much. :)

Sasja

Shame Renata had to retire.
Would have been good practice for Misa to have played a full match here.

Still happy she is through to the 2nd round :)

Only doubles tomorrow for her.

I read she has withdrawn from Poitiers and thus she will be playing 75k Barnstaple in 2 weeks. Good decision imo, Poitiers had an extremely strong field and she would have to play qualies. :)

Into the semi's :D

Now vs. Hlavackova (WTA: 93) or Riske. (WTA: 146)

Hmm, she won't be pleased with the way she played I guess. I must say i'd expected a straight sets victory. :l

But she won, and that's what counts right now. But it will be tough as well against Burnett. She won the 50k Olomouc, the 25k Monteroni and the 25k in Madrid.
All tournaments were played on clay I must add to that. So Misa definitely has a chance, As I think the fast indoor courts suit her better. :)

Good luck :D

question how far will Krajicek have too go to get back into the top 100

With this QF, Misa will be ranked 109 with 616 points (according to TBE).
For top 100 she needs around 680 points. So even if she wins the title here, she will not be top 100 next week.

She is also playing 75k Barnstaple next week and 50k+H Ismaining the week after that. So maybe if she does really well there....

But she has no points to defend until February where she reached the 2nd round at WTA Memphis & SF at WTA Kuala Lumpur.

That's weird  She recently said that Barnstaple and Ismaning would be her last tournaments.
Wouldn't be a bad idea to play more tournaments though.
Opole 25K was her first priority for that week (7 nov), but she withdrew at 25 October.

Misa withdrew from Bratislava (14-11) today

To be honest, I'm glad she WD there :p

I mean, it would be too much of a crazy schedule. I can understand she wanted to play a few tournaments at the end of the season with her new coach, work on her game and getting her ranking back up again. It seems like she wants to end the season in the top 100. She is close though, at 108 atm according to TBE and about 40 points away from top 100.

But I much rather have her 100% fit in Australia next year then playing too much smaller tournaments right now with the risk of getting injured.

MarkNL

Misa's campaign has landed in southern Germany and to be precise in Ismaning :) She'll play a 50K+H here.

And surprise surprise, the draw came out today!

And her first round opponent is....

(SVK)Lenka Jurikova (WTA: 240)

Should be no problem :)

Misa's Quarter:

(1)Sofia Arvidsson(77) vs. Sarah Gronert(205)
Tetyana Arefyeva(263) vs. Naomi Broady(208)
Kristina Kucova(192) vs. Kiki Bertens(199)
(7)Michaella Krajicek(108) vs. Lenka Jurikova(240)

A 2nd round clash with Kiki and a QF clash with Sofia are looming.

Misa has reacted on her withdrawal!

Dear Fans,
unfortunately i had to withdraw from Ismaning very sick due to bronchitis :(
I will be on antibiotics for the next 7-10days and then hope to slowly resume my training on and off court.

The good news is that i will still play two more tournaments this year:
21.11.- $75.000+H Toyota,Japan
28.11.- $75.000 Dubai, UAE

My coach and I decided to play these two tournaments based on the fact that i have only played 18 tournaments this year and could use some more matches. Also im ranked #108 now and it would be HUGE if i could finish the year inside the top-100. But that only a bonus, first i have to get healthy.

Wish you all a nice November,
xxx Misa

It's a positive sign that Misa is not taking any risks. Has been different in the past.
I think she can do well in Japan and the UAE. Toyota 75K mostly is quite weak, especially when you compare it to the European ITF's. I do expect some good Japanese to play there (KDK, Morita, Doi, Nara) Entry list should come out soon.
Dubai probably will be packed with good players.

Okay, so we're kicking off the 75k+H in Toyota, with Misa playing :D

So, the draw has been made and her section looks like this.

(3)Michaella Krajicek (NED) v So-Jung Kim (KOR)
Elina Svitolina (UKR) v Yaroslava Shvedova (KAZ)
Tadeja Majeric (SLO) v (wc)Mari Tanaka (JPN)
(8)Caroline Garcia (FRA) v (Q)Yuka Higuchi (JPN)

First round opponent is So-Jung Kim (WTA: 297)So that is an easy round. :)

But my worst fear has come true: Yaroslava Shvedova is very probably her 2nd round opponent.
She is in great form lately and has reached the Quarterfinals of the French Open in 2009.
Misa can beat her, but she needs to play pretty well. :o

She is playing doubles, as she did in Barnstaple, with French talent Caroline Garcia. :)
Their first round opponents are 2 players from Taiwan, Chan Chin-Wei and Chen Yi.

Well done :)
If Slava is playing because she tweeted about an operation.

If Slava is playing because she tweeted about an operation.

I also read it and in fact she has withdrawn! Svitolina played Lucky Loser Aoyama and won 6-3 6-3.

So now Misa's next opponent will be Elina Svitolina (WTA: 272) :)

That has opened up the draw a bit for Misa.

But a shame for Slava. Not a good year for her in singles. Hope she recovers soon and can return in the top 100 next season

Misa in the QF

She def Elina Svitolina (WTA: 272) 6-2 6-3 :)

Now against Tadeja Majeric (WTA: 282) who def Misa's doubles partner Caroline Garcia (FRA, 8) (WTA: 150) in 3 sets.

So that's 32 ranking points so far and 58 if she reaches the SF :oh:

Good luck Misa :cheer:

EDIT: TBE updated the rankings and with this QF she is ranked nr 100 atm :oh:
Mission accomplished

Misa at #100? That would be great! :D

Last time she was in the top 100 was June '08 :oh: That was right before her QF Wimbledon points of '07 came off.

I'm sure getting back in the top 100 really means a lot to her.

She was down 2-6 In the tiebreak, saved 5 SP's to win it 9-7. :worship:
Then went on to win the 2nd set easily. :D

Misa WD from her SF against Kimiko and her doubles final because of a knee injury :bigcry: :hysteric:

Poor girl just can't get a break. She was having a good week, re-entered the top 100 after 3,5 years and now this. Shame because the match against Kimiko would have been a good test and also Dubai next week

She wrote on facebook:

Dear Fans,

After a great week here in Toyota im ending my tournament withdrawing from both semifinal singles and final doubles. My knee has been bothering me through out the week and today its impossible for me to play at all.
Unfortunately I also wont be going to Dubai next week.
Im going back home to have a scan done and to determine what exactly is wrong.
I ll keep you guys up to date and hopefully its not that serious.

Keep your fingers crossed,

MichaŽlla

Hopefully it's not too serious and she will be ok for the AO  Must have been tough, but a good decision to WD and not risking the injury getting worse like she has done in the past. OMG I feel so bad for her. This is such a sad way to end the season :sobbing: :tears:

Misa  That's very unfortunate. I was really looking forward to her match with Kimiko. But it's smart to withdraw and not take any risks. At least she accomplished her goal. She is top-100 again. :) Will she still play tennis masters in Rotterdam?
