What kind of crowds do you think there would be?

I certainly think they would be larger than what we've seen so far.

By the way, when was the last time she played?

No, crowd because pigs would be flying outside and hell freezing over. :)

Anna would have found a way to lose before the start of the tournament ;)

Anna has been in the top ten before so she's quite capable of qualifying there :p

I'd say the crowds will be the same  I mean if the tour depends on the beauty of a single player to pull the crowds, it's as good as dead anyway.

Ok, lets just say she played only one match. Do you think there would have been more people in the seats than what we have seen so far?

I think there would have been the same amount as there were for Serena, Monica, or Venus, but more than showed up for Kim or Justine.

ANna played singles and doubles in 2000. She beat Capriati 6-4 6-4 and then Martinez 6-4 6-0 and then lost to Martina in the semis. But anna and martina defended and won the doubles titles. The sad thing is that I remember this byy memeory :p

Thanks. I knew she had qualified before, but couldn't remember when.

Anna even qualified in 1998 when she lost in the opening round to Monica Seles and in 1999 when she lost to Mary Pierce after having matchpoint.

Regarding if she was playing in the Championships, we would definitely see more crowds. No question! Anna and Martina are 2 of tennis' biggest drawing cards. The WTA sure must feel their absence.

Maybe there would have been 250 people rather than 200 on opening day. Monica Seles said that her LA friends had absolutely no idea why she was even in town. That goes to show that the promotion for the event was poor. Anna wouldn't have drawn more people for that one match she would have played.

There would have been 201 people there. Crowd and Enrique.

Haha that's so funny dawn, not

So you are telling Venus and Serena would have drew more than 200 people if they were playing during the day session?? I don't think so

Anyway If anna was playing, she would have been playing the evening session, so there would have been more than 200 people..

no difference. Anna has become the tennis joke of the century. A lot of Anna fans have given up on her. They are tired of the excuses and no longer believe the hype. When Anna was booed at one of her latest matches, it really started to sink in.

Ajayres hell yes the seats would have been fuller this is America.

Ajayres I didn't dispute your viewpoint I stated there would'uv been more than 200. 201 with Enrique holding a bag of Doritos is great for tennis.

There wouldn't be any difference in attendce. Kournikova doesn't draw in the crowds like she used to because most of her so-called fans get everything they want from her from internet porn sites

Well an Anna has played in this tournament already, smashnova that is.

IMO, Anna would of drew more of the 14-18 year old wankers who would come only to get a good look at her "bum".

The tournament would of did better if they employed Anna as one of the following.

1. A ball girl, and require her to wear a mini skirt.

2. A ticket agent-well since she doesn't qualify why not be a ticket agent for a week. Of course you won't get perks, but you will get to be "OUTSIDE" of the stadium. :D

3. A concession stand worker-she could give out autographs while selling expensive junk food to the fans.

Sorry juggler Anna already filled the job. Come on she's funny to watch anymore. Like a sitcom gone WILD.

No for real, come on Anna has talent people would pay to see her. I don't think more then what they were this week though. Personally I think the AnaMania is not as extreme as it used to be.

In Los Angeles Anna wouldn't of made a difference because there are already a million blondes with a tan out there.

I have seen Anna play, and while she's certainly no Serena, she isn't a bad player...but then I saw her when she was #8. Considering the obvious lack of publicity for this tournament, if Anna had played, people probably wouldn't even know that she was there
